O'Hanley will replace Scott Powers as head of State Street Global Advisors, according to a statement Tuesday from the Boston-based company. Powers will start transitioning responsibilities to O'Hanley in early April and retire later this yea Kevin Rideout, the head of wholesale execution services for Asia at Citigroup, has joined Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing. He will take charge of business development at the city's bourse. Rideout joined Citigroup in London in 2006 and led the bank's execution services from Hong Kong from 2011. He worked for Thomson Reuters Corp. for a decade before joining Citigroup. Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. announced the expansion of its equity research team with the appointments of Laura Champine, CFA, as managing director and senior consumer research Analyst, and Jason Smith, as vice president and consumer research analyst. The pair will be based in New York and report to Christina Valauri, global head of equity research at Cantor Fitzgerald. Prior to joining Cantor, Champine served as a managing director at Canaccord Genuity, covering the retail sector. Earlier, she worked as an analyst at Cowen & Company and Morgan Keegan, covering retail stocks. Credit Suisse Group AG appointed Mike Paliotta as global head of prime services, replacing departing Paul Germain, according to internal memos. Paliotta, who was co-head of equities for the Americas, will report to Tim O'Hara, co-head of the investment banking division, according to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg. Germain, who was appointed global head of prime services in 2013, is leaving after more than five years to pursue an "entrepreneurial opportunity" outside the bank, Agency-only brokerage ConvergEx has appointed Ann Neidenbach as its new chief information officer. A 15 year market veteran, will be responsible for Convergex's software development, information services, business processes and technical infrastructure. She will also be a member of the company's Executive Committee contributing to business strategy. Prior to joining Convergex, she was most recently senior vice president of Market Systems at Nasdaq. Prior to Nasdaq, Neidenbach held senior positions at Citi as managing director of Electronic Trading Technology where she was responsible for overseeing the technology for equity and options electronic execution, algorithmic trading and electronic market making and as chief operating officer for Lava Trading. Castle Hill Capital Partners hired John Quartararo as a partner and senior managing director. With over 20 years on the Street, Quartararo most recently served as a managing director and co-head of sales at Wells Fargo Prime Services after the acquisition of Merlin Securities in 2012. Prior to Merlin, he was senior managing director at Citigate Group. Airex, an online provider of financial market apps, has hired Tom Joyce and Karl Kilb for its Board of Advisors. Joyce, a 28-year market veteran and an investor in Airex, has more than three decades of experience in electronic trading and financial technology.
