Traders On the Move

Keith Gertsen joins Citi in New York as a senior relationship manager, working with global clients across all asset classes. Gertsen, a 20-year veteran, previously ran all trading at Viking Global Investors for two years. He held a similar position as global head of trading at AllianceBernstein. While there, he was featured in a Traders Magazine cover story on former sellside traders who moved to the buyside to run desks. Before working on the buyside, Gertsen spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank and Alex. Brown & Sons. At Deutsche, he was head of U.S. equity syndicate and global block trading. Earlier, he headed its Nasdaq trading effort.

 

Two veterans joined Morgan Joseph as sales traders. Todd Clark, most recently with Nollenberger Capital, and Gregory Pizzitola, most recently with Brean Murray Carret, joined Morgan Joseph’s California and New York offices, respectively. Clark has 27 years of securities business experience. For the past five years he was head of equity capital markets for San Francisco-based Nollenberger Capital Partners, where he headed up a group of 20 salespeople, research analysts and traders. Pizzitola, who began his Wall Street career in 1983 as a block trader with Lazard Freres & Co., was most recently head of institutional trading at Brean Murray Carret & Co., which he joined in 2005.

 

Robert Thompson, chief operating officer of Fidessa’s sellside business for the last 14-years, was appointed president of its North American buyside business, which includes the firm’s LatentZero front office suite. Thompson, a 23-year market veteran who has spent the last 17-years at Fidessa, focused on project management, account management and operations. He reports to Paul Nokes, chief executive of its global buyside business.

 

Gerald Domanski joins SJ Levinson & Sons’ Red Bank, N.J. office as senior managing director and head of international sales and trading. Domanski, who has two decades of experience, is charged with leading the expansion of the firm’s international equity sales and trading unit. Prior, he worked at BTIG for five years as a managing director in the international equities department and served two years as senior managing director and head of international equities at Schwab Capital Markets. He reports to Matthew Levinson, chief executive.

 

Kamlesh Bhatia joins Jefferies Equities Capital Markets Group where he will responsible for private placement origination. Bhatia, a 10-year professional, spent most of his career in structuring and executing private equity and equity-linked transactions. Most recently he worked at Piper Jaffray for a year and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he structured and executed $3 billion of privately negotiated equity and equity-linked transactions. He also worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse. Bhatia reports to Mark Connelly, global head of equity capital markets.
