Brown Advisory, a Baltimore-based money manager with about $31 billion in client assets, hired Chris Bartlett. Bartlett, a 27-year veteran comes, from Wells Fargo Securities, where he was head of equity sales and trading. He leaves Wells as it undergoes a restructuring of its equity and fixed-income groups. Earlier, he was with Wachovia as a result of that bank’s takeover of First Union. Before that, he had joined First Union’s Nasdaq trading desk in Baltimore in 1999 from Alex. Brown & Sons, where he spent 12 years on its Nasdaq OTC desk. He started his career in 1985 at Kidder Peabody as an equity sales trader.


Richard Barnett joined Liquidnet as global head of product. Barnett, an 11-year pro, is responsible for overseeing, expanding and integrating Liquidnet’s products and will be based in New York. He comes from Thomson Reuters, where he was global head of product management responsible for real-time news, messaging, analytical products and desktop design strategy. Prior to that, he spent more than 12 years at Bloomberg overseeing the development of its messaging and compliance platform, portfolio analytics, news and mobile products. He reports to chief operating officer John Kelly.


Jon Ledwick joined Craig-Hallum as a sales trader in the Minneapolis-based firm’s Boston office. Ledwick spent the last five years as managing director of sales trading at ThinkEquity Partners. Prior to that, he did trading stints at Leerink Swann and Adams, Harkness & Hill.


RBS hired Ed Hulina as its head of foreign exchange and emerging markets FX sales in the Americas. A 21-year pro, Hulina is charged with growing the firm’s client list-specifically corporate treasurers, asset managers, hedge funds, banks and brokers. He comes from UBS, where he spent a year as co-head of fixed-income, currencies and commodities distribution for the Americas. In that role, he was responsible for sales of UBS’s foreign exchange trading services, as well as credit and rate services, securitized products and structured products. He now reports to Stephen Kemp, head of FX Americas, and Rich Tang, head of North America sales.
Separately, Anuj Mehra also joined RBS as vice president of FX bank sales. Mehra, a 12-year vet, comes from Barclays, where he was a vice president of eFX sales. He reports to Matt Thomas, head of FX e-commerce and bank sales North America.


Societe Generale has hired two sales traders. Mario Arace, a 20-year pro, is charged with leading the firm’s expansion in American cash equity and American Depositary Receipt trading. He comes from Citigroup, where he worked as a global equity sales trader for two years. Previously, he was a managing director of sales trading at HSBC, where he worked for six years. He also worked in equity arbitrage at J.P. Morgan for two. He reports to Sean Patrick Farrell, head of U.S. sales trading.
Sunny Duggal, an 11-year vet, comes on board as a sales trader on the firm’s program trading desk. He comes from RBS and reports to Jenny Chen, head of U.S. program trading.
