TRADERS ON THE MOVE: CME Nabs Deutsche Prime Brokerage FX Head, Nasdaq Loses FX Exec

CME Group is set to hire Deutsche’s former head of foreign exchange prime brokerage Paul Houston as its new global head of FX, according to sources.Houston will join the derivatives group as executive director and global head of foreign exchange in the coming months. He will report to Sean Tully, CME Group senior managing director of financial and OTC products, and be based in London.

Rob Goralnick joined introducing broker SageTrader as an executive vice president selling execution and clearing services to hedge fund managers and institutional traders. Goralnick works Sage New York office. Prior to this he was at Knight/ KCG for almost 12 years selling electronic-trading services.

Jonas Lindholm has left his position as managing director of FX at Nasdaq, as the exchange group continues to pull back from its FX operations. In January it was reported that Nasdaq was suspending its FX clearing and trading initiatives and that the firms head of FX product, David Holcombe, had left. Now Stockholm-based Lindholm has also left Nasdaq, a spokesperson for the exchange confirmed. Lindholm had been with Nasdaq since 2012, prior to which he worked in fixed income sales at Nordic Fixed Income. Before that, he spent five years as an FX and interest rates trader at Husquarna. Lindholm has also held roles at Electrolux, SEB Enskilda Securities.

JP Morgans global head of agency clearing and collateral management Emily Portney has left the investment bank in the latest senior management change within the derivatives unit of the US firm.Portney, who was latterly running agency clearing and collateral out of New York, left the bank last week, according to sources.

State Street managing director Yvonne Wong has joined China equity long/short hedge fund firm Elevation Capital.It was reported by HFM that Wong has been out of the industry since leaving State Street to take a sabbatical in March 2011 after a 12-month stint in charge of strategy and client relationships for enhanced custody in Asia Pacific.Prior to State Street she was COO with $350m event-driven hedge fund Thaddeus Capital between August 2008 and January 2010.Before that was head of Asia Pacific capital introductions at Merrill Lynch between February 2005 and June 2008.
