Trading technology veteran Anthony Abenante is joining the equities business at Credit Suisse. In 2012 Abenante left electronic trading firm Instinet, having served as CEO there for five years. In the interim he has worked in a consulting capacity for firms like KCG Holdings.
LXM Group announced the appointment of Joe Froschauer as Head of Trading and General Manager for the firms operations in the United States. He will be responsible for building trading relationships with North American based Global Institutional Asset Managers by identifying equity and fixed income trading opportunities. A 23 year veteran, Froschauer joins LXM from the Nomura Group, where he was Managing Director with Instinet in Global Sales Trading in New York. Prior to Nomura, he held roles at Lehman Brothers as Senior Vice President in International Sales Trading for one year and Goldman Sachs as Vice President in International Sales Trading from 1999 to 2007.

Following the reported departure of Greg Tusar, KCG has lost another senior executive as a result of its acquisition by Virtu Financial. Phil Allison, who forged a reputation in equity trading circles during a near 17-year career at Swiss bank UBS, has left KCG.
John Shay, head of FICC at NASDAQ, has opted to leave the exchange operator after only 10 months. In a client letter obtained first by Trading Places, NASDAQ communicated to its U.S. Treasury clients this morning that John Shay, Head of FICC, has decided to leave the organization. Tom Wittman, NASDAQs Global Head of Equities, will now lead all of trading, including the NASDAQ Fixed Income business line. Wittman added in the letter, Combining our global equities and FICC teams under a unified leadership structure will allow us to best support the needs of our customers, drive greater awareness of our offering, and, combined with our technology expertise, provide a better overall experience for the marketplace.
Sabrina Wilson has joined Citi in the role of global head of electronic and algorithmic trading, and EMEA head of futures, clearing and collateral. Wilson, a professional with over 20 years of experience, held a comparable position at Deutsche Bank.
Stephens Inc., an independent financial services firm, announced the hiring of Frank Chiou as managing director for New York Institutional Equity Sales and Mark Connelly as managing director and senior equity research analyst. Mr. Chiou and Mr. Connelly will be based in Stephens New York office.
Chiou has more than 20 years of institutional equity sales experience and joins Stephens from William Blair where he was a partner. Previously, he held sales positions at Thomas Weisel, Adams Harkness, and Goldman Sachs.
Connelly will cover paper, packaging, and chemicals for Stephens. His expertise of these sectors as well as global agribusiness spans 30 years. Before joining Stephens, Mr. Connelly was a senior analyst with CLSA Americas and has held similar positions with Credit Suisse Group and J.P. Morgan &Co.
Dash Financial Technologies has named Sarah Hall Managing Director, Head of Human Resources. In this role she is responsible for all aspects of the firms human capital investment, employee relations and talent management programs globally. A member of the firms executive management team. Hall joins the firm from consumer goods provider Aden & Anais, for whom she served as Global Human Resources Director. She began her career as a Human Resources Manager for Skywalk Group, a professional services firm focusing on Human Resources Management and Organizational and Leadership Development.

LiquidityBook appointed industry veteran Andy Carroll as Chief Architect. Carroll, who will report to CTO Shawn Samuel, will be responsible for the technology architecture of the firms SaaS-based platform. Carroll, a pro with over 30 years of experience, joined from Twitter, where he was a staff software engineer in the firms Live Video group, serving as the tech lead on the project to live-stream the NFLs Thursday Night Football games during the 2016 season. He joined Twitter as part of its acquisition of social TV analytics firm BlueFin Labs, where he served as a tech lead. Prior to BlueFin he held multiple senior engineering, development and architecture roles for firms including aPriori, i2 Technologies, and Voice Control Systems.
Jefferies has hired Peter Seccia, a former Goldman Sachs partner, as global head of equity derivatives. Seccia will work closely with global head of equities Peter Forlenza and Matt Foulds, global head of equities distribution in New York. He left Goldman Sachs in 2016. While there, he was named partner at Goldman Sachs in 2008 and headed the North American derivatives sales business for the equities division. Seccia started his career in the J.Aron division in foreign exchange derivative trading back in 1989.
Former UBS OConnor hedge fund manager Doc Horn has been named as head of total return equities at Pictet Asset Management, the company said in a statement. Horn will oversee seven equity long/short teams across Geneva, London, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong. Based in London, he will report to equities CIO Philippe de Weck.
