The following is a NYSE memo shared with Traders Magazine:
All-
I am pleased to announce that Hope Jarkowski will become NYSE’s next Head of Equities.
Hope’s experience combining public policy development, securities regulation, and advocacy on behalf of NYSE and ICE has been extraordinarily impactful over her tenure as co-head of ICE’s Government Affairs division. Her proven capability to advance our business objectives with a range of stakeholders illustrates her readiness to extend NYSE’s leadership position in equity trading. Hope will now move into the business, with P&L responsibility for our five equity exchanges, the TRF, Global OTC and NYSE Bonds.
In her new role, Hope will also have responsibility for the equity product roadmap, the relationship management team and our market structure strategy. To that end, Josh Burch, Bob Hill, Paul Kenyon and Karen Lorentz will report into Hope, while Charlie Caccese and the Floor Ops team will now report into Mike West.
Hope’s appointment rounds out a team that I believe is objectively the best in the industry. Her domain expertise and relationships will complement the NYSE transaction team’s existing strengths and leadership in product, operations, commercial policy, client engagement and research.
Hope will transition her official Government Affairs responsibilities over the remainder of the month, but will continue to maintain a high level of engagement with policymakers and regulators to support NYSE and ICE more broadly. She will remain based in Washington, with regular visits to NYC once public health conditions permit travel.
Please join me in congratulating Hope and supporting her as she transitions into her new role.
Best,
Michael
