UBS has hired Jon Slavin as Head of Execution Hub, Americas.
According to an internal memo written by Mark Goodman, Global Head of UBS Execution Hub, Slavin will be responsible for setting up and running the US trading team and driving regional client strategy. A key component of the Execution Hub initiative is to deliver an outsourced trading offering for hedge funds and asset managers.
Slavin was most recently Global Head of Equity Trading at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, after previous leadership trading roles at PIMCO, Weiss Multi-Strategy and Sigma Capital. He will report locally into Todd Lopez, Head of Execution Services, Americas, and globally into Goodman.
Slavin left MSIM in April and joined UBS in May, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Also joining UBS is Sherri Cohen, who will be responsible for business development of Execution Hub in the Americas. Cohen also joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management where she ran Global Emerging Markets Trading as well as led the infrastructure development of MSIM trading systems and Trading COO functions. She brings previous buy-side experience from Sogen Funds, GE Asset Management and State Street Bank. Cohen will report to Slavin.
Alison Keunen, a UBS spokesperson, confirmed the content of the memo to Traders Magazine.
