ON THE MOVE: Luke Ellis Steps Down From Man Group; Jason Brady to Leave Thornburg

Man Group, a global, technology-empowered active investment management firm, has announced that Luke Ellis has informed the Board of his decision to retire and that Robyn Grew will be appointed as the next CEO of Man Group. Grew is currently President of Man Group and a member of the Senior Executive Committee, based in the US. She will take over as CEO as of September 1, 2023, at which time she will also join the Man Group Board as an executive director. While she will relocate to the UK following her appointment, she will continue to spend a substantial proportion of her time in the US, given the firm’s presence there.

Jason Brady

Thornburg Investment Management has announced that Jason Brady intends to step down later this year from his role as president & CEO and portfolio manager, as well as from the Board of Directors of Thornburg, and depart the firm. Brady will continue in his role to allow for a smooth transition, while Thornburg’s Board of Directors undertakes a search for his successor.

Mike Wilkins

Velox has welcomed technology veteran Mike Wilkins as Head of Go-To-Market. In his role, Wilkins will focus on marketing, sales enablement and business development for Velox’s vCore platform. Wilkins has over 20 years experience in technology marketing, business development and product strategy roles at organizations including R3, ION Markets, and Fidessa.

Yieldstreet has appointed Ted Yarbrough as its Chief Investment Officer. Yarbrough brings nearly three decades of experience at Citigroup and its predecessor companies, holding a variety of leadership roles across the firm’s banking, markets, and lending businesses. During his tenure, he served as Chief Investment Officer of Global Spread Products, Global Head of Structured Finance, and most recently as Global Co-Head of Institutional Credit Management.

Managed Funds Association (MFA), the trade association for the global alternative asset management industry, has appointed Rachel Grand as Vice President and Senior Counsel. Grand, based in the New York office, brings to MFA a proven track record in legal and compliance roles with alternative asset managers. Before joining MFA, Grand held several roles at D. E. Shaw & Co.

BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed two new members of its Sustainability Centre. Nogoye Dieng has joined as a Senior Stewardship Analyst, based in Paris. Sindhu Janakiram has joined as an ESG Analyst, Equality Lead, based in New York.

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association has appointed three new directors to its Board: Yoji Imafuku, Managing Director, Head of Derivatives Business Planning, Mizuho Securities Co; Daniel Maguire, Chief Executive Officer, LCH Group and Group Head, Post Trade, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG); and Tyler Wellensiek, Managing Director, Global Head of Rates Market Structure and Business Strategy, Barclays.
