Jefferies Financial Group has established full service investment banking and capital markets capabilities in Canada. The Investment Banking team will be led by Bruce Rothney as CEO, along with the Honourable John Manley as Chairman, Ron Lloyd as Deputy Chairman, and Trond Lossius as Deputy Chairman and Head of M&A, Erik Charbonneau as Head of Investment Banking, Jacquelyn Titus as Head of the Financial Institutions Group and James McKenna as Head of TMT and Diversified Industrials. Rothney is former chair and chief executive officer at Barclays Canada.
Nikko Asset Management has appointed James Wesley as CEO and Country Head of Nikko Asset Management Americas, effective January 1, 2024, subject to regulatory approval. He succeeds Lawrence (Larry) Prager who is retiring from this position at the end of December 2023. Wesley has been serving as Nikko AM Americas Deputy CEO since April 2023. Prior to that, he was Head of Distribution at Nikko AM New Zealand.
Nasdaq has appointed Roland Chai as President of European Market Services, effective January 1, 2024. Chai has extensive experience in technology, risk management, trading, and post-trade across multiple asset classes, as well as deep relationship with investment communities and regulators globally. Joining Nasdaq in 2020, he served as Chief Risk Officer and led the development and review of Nasdaq’s global risk program.
Nasdaq Private Market (NPM) has hired Bill Spoor as a Managing Director and its new Head of Origination and Special Situations within the company’s Capital Markets division. He will be based in New York, and report to Brett Mock, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Capital Markets, Nasdaq Private Market. Spoor has extensive experience working with some of the largest institutional investors, private equity firms, hedge funds, asset managers, pensions, and insurance companies worldwide. He joins NPM from Goldman Sachs, where he spent 11 years as a Managing Director in Leveraged Finance.
Sol Zlotchenko and Daniel Zayfman have joined VersiFI as Chief Product and Technology Officer and Chief Information and Security Officer, respectively. Zlotchenko joins VersiFi from Hazeltree. He has over 25 years of experience leading global engineering and product teams with a strong success record building and scaling technology solutions across a range of financial use cases, including hedge funds, private market investments, data analytics, and asset optimization. Zayfman also joins from Hazeltree, where he led the development of a robust and secure information technology environment, including the delivery of IT infrastructure and services, information security systems, and compliance.
Xceptor has appointed Craig Nickerson as Chief Financial Officer, effective January 2024. With over 20 years of experience, Nickerson has held leadership roles in several private equity-backed companies, including RSA Security, AFS Technologies, Insightsoftware, the SAVO Group and Applied Global Technologies Inc.
ITRS has appointed James Colquhoun as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has over 15 years of experience as a commercial CFO, having held this position across a range of high-growth, international businesses, including SightCall, Nuxeo, Calastone, and Aol Europe.
