ON THE MOVE: Wells Fargo Names Bridget Engle; Adroit Trading Technologies Taps Michael Kraines

Wells Fargo & Company has announced that Bridget Engle has been named Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and Head of Technology, reporting to Wells Fargo CEO Charlie Scharf and joining the company’s Operating Committee, effective August 12, 2024. Engle will be responsible for all technology across the Company. She brings more than 30 years of experience managing large, global technology organizations in complex financial institutions. Engle joins Wells Fargo from BNY where she served as SEVP and Chief Information Officer (CIO) from 2017 until earlier this year. Prior to her role at BNY, she served in several roles at Bank of America, including as the CIO of Consumer Banking as well as CIO of Global Banking and Markets, and in various roles at several other financial institutions earlier in her career.

Michael Kraines

Adroit Trading Technologies, a buy-side execution management system (EMS) provider in fixed-income cash and derivatives, has appointed Michael Kraines as the firm’s first-ever Chief Growth Officer. Kraines will focus on bringing Adroit’s leading tech-driven trading solutions to the increasingly electronified institutional trading marketplace. He will report to Adroit CEO Anil Jaglan as they lead the company through the next phase of its growth. Kraines joins Adroit after successful executive roles with several leading financial technology companies, including serving as President of Trading Technologies (TT), CFO of Digital Currency Group (DCG), and Managing Director at Sandler O’Neill and Wasserstein Perella in their FinTech investment banking groups.

Grant Coombe

Xceptor, an intelligent automation platform for financial markets, has hired Grant Coombe as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), effective September 2024. Reporting to CEO, Michiel Verhoeven, Coombe will join Xceptor’s Executive Leadership Team. Coombe brings with him a wealth of experience serving clients globally across financial services and technology industries, with a strong focus on delivering outstanding client experience and outcomes. He also has a strong track record of driving revenue growth and developing high performing teams across global organizations. Most recently, Coombe served as Chief Revenue Officer at FundApps, and previously held leadership roles at Saleslocker and Bloomberg.

M&G has appointed Shawn Gamble as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO), subject to regulatory approval. She will join the business in 2025 reporting to CEO Andrea Rossi, and will sit on the Group’s executive committee. Gamble will join M&G from Hargreaves Lansdown, where she’s currently the Group Chief Risk Officer, where she has led their risk and compliance functions for the last four years. She was previously Chief Risk Officer at Fidelity International, and prior to that held a number of senior leadership positions at Deutsche Bank, Barclays and GE Capital.

Toss Securities is expanding its global footprint with the establishment of a new corporate office in the United States. The newly established office, to be known as Toss Securities Americas (TSA), is a significant part of the company’s strategic plan to broaden its reach and enhance its services. Kyungsoo (Peter) Kim, the current Head of Finance, will be taking responsibility as CEO of TSA. His leadership and expertise will be instrumental in this new venture as we build and strengthen relationships with U.S. partners.

ING has hired Daniele Tonella as chief technology officer (CTO) and member of the Management Board Banking. He will succeed Marnix van Stiphout who has held the role ad interim since November 1, 2023, in addition to his roles as chief operations officer and chief transformation officer. Tonella has over 20 years of experience in technology leadership roles in the financial industry and is currently active in advisory and board roles for several companies. From 2017-2021 he worked at UniCredit, including as group chief information officer and CEO of UniCredit Services. Before that he held various roles at AXA Group, Evalueserve and Swiss Life.
