MEMX has brought on two industry experts to aid in the build out of its new options exchange. Geralyn Endo will lead options sales efforts by managing client relationships and identifying new revenue opportunities. She joins the team from Cboe Global Markets, where she was VP, Global Head of Client Engagement, Data & Access Solutions. Ben Willet, formerly a Director of Operations, NA Equities at Cboe Global Markets, has joined MEMX as a Market Operations Analyst. He will be the first point of contact for options members, ensuring timely responses for all interactions. He will also be involved in monitoring exchange activity to mitigate operational risk.
JonesTrading Institutional Services has hired industry veterans Jorge Hendrickson and Mark McGoldrick as Managing Directors, and Co-Heads of JonesTrading Prime Services. Each brings over two decades of experience in the space. Prior to joining Jones, Hendrickson was CRO of Opus Fund Services and Vice President of Prime Services at Concept Capital Markets. Most recently, McGoldrick was Director at Cowen’s Outsourced Trading and Prime Services Group.
BNP Paribas has appointed Chris Richmond as Head of the Asset Owner, Asset Manager and Alternatives Client Lines for BNP Paribas Securities Services Americas, the bank’s securities services division. He will report to Dennis Bon, Head of BNP Paribas Securities Services in the Americas, as well as Arnaud Claudon, Global Head of Asset Managers and Owners, and Patrick Hayes, Global Head of Alternative Investors. Richmond has extensive experience servicing traditional and alternative investment managers and asset owners at State Street, Charles River, and BNY Mellon. Prior to this, he led multiple fund accounting teams at Fidelity Investments.
Northern Trust has appointed John Turney as Global Head of Front Office Solutions and Marisa Kurk as Head of Global Foreign Exchange (GFX). Turney, who has led GFX since 2018, takes the helm of the innovative and growing Front Office Solutions business as it expands to new markets across the globe. He reports to Melanie Pickett, Head of Asset Owners, Americas. Kurk, with nearly two decades of institutional foreign exchange experience globally, joined Northern Trust as Chief Operating Officer for GFX in 2019 and was named Chief Strategy Officer in 2021. As Head of GFX, she will report to Guy Gibson, Global Head of Capital Markets.
Gottfried Leibbrandt has been appointed as CLS’s Chair of the Board. He succeeds Ken Harvey, who retired after ten years as a member of the Board, eight of which as chair. Leibbrandt has been a member of the Board since 2021. In addition, five new members have been appointed to its Board of Directors: Brian Gallagher (JPMorgan Chase), Federica Mazzucato, (UBS Investment Bank), Hari Moorthy (Goldman Sachs), Paolo Muzzarelli (Credit Suisse) and Oliver Stuart (Morgan Stanley).
Digital asset firm Fireblocks has appointed the former head of fintech at the Bank of England, Varun Paul. He arrives at Fireblocks after 14 years at the Bank of England, ultimately spearheading its fintech hub and future of finance initiatives. In his new role, Paul will be tasked with leading the Fireblocks’ engagement with central banks and market infrastructures as they begin adopting digital asset and tokenization technologies.
