Natixis Appoints Burn as New Global Head of Cash Equity

Natixis Wholesale banking, the global trading division of the French Bank Natixis, has brought on a new head of its high-touch trading desk.

The firm announced it has named Ian Burn as global head of cash equity at Natixis. He will be based in London.

Burn, a veteran with over 31 years in the business, began his trading career in 1983 as a local on the LIFFE floor. In 1984 he joined the equities department at Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers and then moved to Lehman Brothers in 1989 where he was appointed head of U.K. equity sales. In 2000, Burn moved to Bear Stearns as head of European equity sales, before being appointed global head of equity sales and sales trading at ING in 2008. In 2011 he moved to MainFirst Bank where he also held the title of global head of equity sales and sales trading.

Burn reports to Luc Francois, Natixis’ head of global markets.
