Nomura Securities International hired Tom Jarck as a managing director and co-head of equity index trading.
Jarck will be primarily responsible for trading sector indices, ETFs and VIX-related products. He will work alongside Jordan Farkas, who serves as the other co-head of equity index trading.
Farkas has been at Nomura since 2009.
Jarck, a veteran with more than 20 years of index option trading, comes from Deutsche Bank where he most recently served as head of index flow volatility trading. He also worked at Citi and Credit Suisse.
Also joining the firm’s equities group is Sergei Levin as an executive director and senior trader focused on equities exotics. Levin, a professional with over 10 years trading experience in exotics, is responsible for equity exotics trading across single stocks and indices, leveraging the firm’s hedge fund relationships globally. He came from Citi as well. Levin has also traded at Morgan Stanley and Wachovia.
Both Jarck and Levin report to Walter Maloney, head of equities trading, Americas.
