Bloomberg Tradebooks 2015 global Charity Day generated $1.25 million in gross commissions, the net of which will be donated to the 20 participating charities. Bloomberg Trading Solutions will contribute an additional $100,000 to the total amount raised, according to a Bloomberg spokesperson.

Charity Day is just one example of the strong commitment to giving back that helps define who we are as a company. By raising money for a wide variety of worthy causes, this event allows Bloomberg to help more people in need — and make an even bigger difference in countries around the world, said Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and former mayor of New York City.

Bloomberg Tradebook continues to grow the number of charities involved in Charity Day, as well as the ways in which Bloomberg employees across the globe can take part, said Glenn Lesko, president and CEO of Bloomberg Tradebook. Charity Day not only gives Tradebook the opportunity to give back but it also inspires employees, our clients and others to do more to help their local communities through volunteerism and charitable donations.

The annual event has raised more than $2.7 million in trading commissions to support charitable causes. In an effort to raise more money this year, Bloomberg Tradebook added commission dollars earned through futures trading in addition to those generated through equities, options and FX trading.

The Charity Day event also took place in the Bloomberg offices bases in London, Hong Kong and Sao Paulo in Brazil.
