Timothy Gee was hired to fill a newly created position at Societe Generale, heading the firm’s equities execution services group in the Americas. Gee previously spent five years at UBS, where he ran cash trading distribution for cash trading and was co-head of global electronic trading.
In Gee’s new role, he is responsible for sales trading and program trading at Societe Generale. He reports to Thomas Droumenq, head of global equity flow, and to Francois Banneville, who heads global execution services.
Before joining UBS in 2005 as head of program trading sales for the Americas, Gee held a similar role at Morgan Stanley. During his 12 years at Morgan, he was also responsible for portfolio strategies and quantitative analysis.
Rupert Fennelly joins Morgan Stanley’s electronic trading division, MSET, as a managing director and head of sales for the Americas. Fennelly previously spent nearly eight years at Credit Suisse in New York, where he was a managing director and headed AES sales in the Northeast. He reports to Andrew Silverman, who heads Morgan Stanley’s electronic trading effort.
Ruth Colagiuri joins UNX as a managing director and head of product management in New York. Colagiuri, a 12-year veteran, was previously at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she spent nine years and was most recently head of Americas electronic trading products. She reports to UNX chief executive Thomas Kim.
Vanessa Light joins Domestic Securities as a sales trader for broker-dealers. Light, a 23-year veteran in broker-dealer sales, previously was with Benchmark Securities, where she spent about three years. She reports to Rick Petrone, director of global markets.
