After several months of high profile defections in both the U.S. and London, including stars such as Scott Bacigalupo, the firm’s head of Americas cash equity sales and trading, has now hired almost two dozen sales traders and others in equity sales over the last several weeks, according to a report in the Financial News. The report said that the bulge firm has grabbed staff from its rivals including Barclays, Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley, citing people familiar with the situation.
The new hires in the U.S. include: Anthony Buoscio, sales trader; Mike Marco, healthcare equity trader; Scott Smith, head of specialty sales; Matt Brady, swaps trader; Puneet Pardani, sales trader;Tom O’Brien, Canada equity trader; Pranay Oberoi, equity sales; Michel Romano, equity derivatives sales; Ryan Lee, electronic sales trader; Michael Bogorad, sales trader; Alex Goodman, consumer equity trader; Adam Kravetz, COO for global execution services.
In the London office, the firm brought on: Ulick Burke, head of U.K. institutional sales; Walter Entholzer, covering the German market; Cedric Van der Haert, covering Belgium and the Netherlands; Georgio Papadokotsolis, covering emerging market equities; Alan Davies, global head of financials specialist sales (relocating to London from New York); Jeremy Elster, industrials specialist sales team; Tan Phull, head of equities electronic sales trading for EMEA; Michaela Kraenzle, portfolio products; Gurjeet Kundi, portfolio products; Valery Gerber, cash equities sales; Marco Schaerer, derivative sales; Matthias Klein, derivatives sales.

George Francis has been hired by Jordan & Jordan, a FinTech company, to join its Market Data practice. Francis, a specialist in market data compliance, contract interpretation and data analysis, will manage client engagements that focus on market data compliance assessments and provide expertise to clients on the Market Data Reporting managed service offering. He came from Bloomberg where he was a Market Data Compliance Analyst focused on implementing procedures in support of market data compliance across all Bloomberg Media products and services. Prior to that, he was a Market Data Compliance Analyst at Reval.
Fee-only Registered Investment Advisory The Mather Group hired James Perkins to its Chicago-based investment team as a senior portfolio analyst. Perkins will be responsible for portfolio and macroeconomic analysis, as well as oversee the firm’s proprietary risk analysis programs to support investment decisions.
He previously was a client relationship manager in the global family and private investment offices of Northern Trust Company in Chicago.
Tim Chiang has joined agency-only firm BTIG as a managing director and specialty pharmaceutical research analyst. Chiang, with over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, will focus on specialty pharmaceutical companies, stocks, trends and the competitive landscape. Specialty pharmaceutical research is a new area of research for BTIG. Prior to BTIG, he was a managing director and senior analyst at CRT Capital Group for the past five years. He held similar positions at FTN Midwest Research and Natexis Bleichroeder, and was part of the specialty pharmaceutical research team at Banc of America Securities and UBS Securities. He reports to Karen Blando, managing director and head of research at BTIG.
