Merriman Capital hired two – both from the now defunct ThinkEquity Partners. The San Francisco-based Merriman brought on Jack Monopoli as a managing director and head of advisory trading and market making. Monopoli was previously head of trading at ThinkEquity. Merriman also hired Bill Southern as a sales trader. Southern was a sales trader at ThinkEquity. That firm shut down late last year.
Brandon Krieg joined Macquarie Securities as global head of middle market and wholesale execution services. Krieg was formerly head of electronic sales for the Knight Direct service at Knight Capital Group.
Jennifer Winters joined Commonwealth Australia Securities as a compliance officer with responsibility for equity and options trading. Winters was previously a trading executive at a host of firms, including Momentum Trading Partners, HSBC Securities, and Bernard L. Madoff Securities.
Jim Bogardus joined Maxim Group as a sales trader. Bogardus previously worked a brief stint at CV Brokerage in Red Bank, NJ. Before that, he spent 10 years as a New York Stock Exchange floor broker with Griswold Company.
Peter Grace joined Nasdaq in equities sales. Grace previously held a similar position with NYSE Arca for over 10 years.
