YCharts, Inc, a SaaS financial data and investment research platform, today announced the launch and availability of YData, a proprietary data offering that leverages machine learning and natural language processing to build a comprehensive, highly-structured database tailored for data-driven investment professionals. The first data feed available in YData is Corporate Events, a database of traditionally difficult-to-find forward-looking events from publicly traded companies.
As a company that was borne out of the idea of applying leading-edge technology to disrupt the financial tools space, we applied the same approach to financial data by leveraging the strength of both human and machine, said Ara Anjargolian, Chief Technology Officer at YCharts. We saw an opportunity to create a Corporate Events data feed, as current solutions dont provide the necessary intelligence. As our datasets continue to push the boundaries of whats possible, we believe YData will provide our customers with high-quality intelligence to better inform their investment strategies.
To create the data feeds in YData, YCharts has built machine learning systems to monitor tens of thousands of sources where new events are announced. Proprietary machine learning algorithms take that data and pull pertinent event information from these sources. To verify if the data found by the algorithms is correct, a dedicated team reviews the data and adds it to the database if it fits the criteria.
The Corporate Events data feed includes:
- Product launch events, press conferences, webcasts, and release dates for video games, movies, electronics, etc.
- Scheduled or estimated data releases (like airlines PRASM), monthly retail sales results, brokerage activity metrics, etc.
- Special business update calls & events (concerning pending M&A, spin off, etc.)
- Industry & investment bank conferences; analyst & investor days, calls & events
- Earnings releases & conference calls, shareholder & board meetings, and company-hosted events & conferences
YData feeds are available through FTP files and will soon be accessible via API. If youre interested in learning more about YData and/or the Corporate Events feed, contact info@ychartsdata.com or visit the YData website: ychartsdata.com.
