Mark Costello has joined Olivetree Financial as an Executive Director and will be based in its New York office. Costello will be responsible for sales trading coverage of many N.Y. based hedge funds and long only clients, as well as assisting with sector specific trading responsibilities. He joins from Clarksons Platou, where he was a founding member of their Equity/Credit Sales and Trading Team. Prior to that, he held similar senior roles at both FBR Capital and Citi where he was Sector Head for the Energy, Metals and Mining Sectors.

Deutsche Bank has made its first big hire of the year by appointing Krisan Haria – a former senior trader at KCG Holdings with expertise in data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence – as a synthetic strategist, based in London. Haria left KCG in September 2017, where he was responsible for running the client business side of trading. Haria is reportedly also a cryptocurrency, mining and ICO expert.
Thechief executive of the London-based brokerage acquired by Cowen Groupas part of itspurchase ofNew York-headquartered Convergex Group has left just months after the deal completed. Philip Gough, whohad been CEOof Convergex’s London-based brokerage since January 2015, left the group towards the end of 2017, according to Companies House filings, endinganother chapter in his more than 30 years in capital markets

Adams has a Goldman Sachs pedigree and also spent time at Deutsche Bank, Joining as a Managing Director, Engineering and Architecture Services, he has 18 years of experience in investment banking. He will be based at J.P. Morgans New York office.
Commcise hired Melissa Umans as Director of Business Development in the New York ofice. In this newly created role, Umans will focus on growing existing relationships and expanding the Commcise presence in the US. Having previously worked at IHS Markit and Goldman Sachs, she brings significant expertise in Research Payment Account management, Commission Sharing Agreement aggregation, interaction management and broker evaluations.
AxiomSL landed Harry Chopra as Chief Client Officer, effective immediately. In this role, Chopra will oversee AxiomSLs global business development efforts, implement go-to-market strategies and build worldwide client-driven growth. Chopra is a veteran in the space and brings more than 30 years of experience in global sales and financial services. Most recently, he was the Chief Commercial Officer at Credit Benchmark. Prior, Chopra was the head of sales and client services for S&P Capital IQ and leadership positions at Citigroup Asset Management as the Head of International Retail Distribution and the Head of Institutional Marketing.
Brian Hogan, who oversees the Fidelity Investment stock-picking unit thats faced scrutiny over sexual harassment allegations, is moving to another role within the firm. Hogan, who has been with the Boston-based money manager since 1994, will become head of investment solutions and innovation, according to Vincent Loporchio, a Fidelity spokesman. The firm is in the process of looking for a new stock-picking head, he said.
Citadel has hired David Glockner, who was director of the SECs Chicago office overseeing over 270 enforcement staff, as its chief compliance officer. Glockner led the Chicago operation of the SEC since December 2013, which is its second largest office, and left in early November. He played an instrumental role in the creation of a new cyber-security unit at the SEC, announced in September, that targets hackers, electronic trading market manipulation and misconduct on the dark web. Before he joined the SEC, Glockner spent 25 years as a criminal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Northern District of Illinois. At Citadel, he will be based in its Chicago headquarters and reports to Shawn Fagan, its chief legal officer.
Glockner is the second senior SEC official to join Citadels legal and compliance team this year. Stephen Luparello, the director of trading and markets at the SEC, joined its market-making business Citadel Securities as general counsel in May.
Charles Randell CBE was appointed as the new Chair of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Charles is currently an external member of the Prudential Regulation Committee of the Bank of England and a non-executive board member of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
Finastra has hired Pedro Porfirio to lead global field and customer engagement with capital markets customers and prospects. Based in London, Porfirio will drive the growth of the companys entire capital markets business line spanning treasury, capital markets, and investment management. He joins from Calypso Technology where he worked as Chief Product Officer, and brings over 25 years experience in banking and technology. Previously he was Head of Euro Derivative Rates at Jefferies International Ltd. and Head of EUR Rates at State Street. He has also held Director positions at Dresdner and Lehman Brothers, both in London and in New York. Pedro reports to Hannes Liebe, Chief Operations Officer, International at Finastra.
