Nasdaq OMX Group will start the revamp of its options market with five symbols on Friday. The move marks a significant change for the small exchange as it opens up to market makers.
The heart of the new program, dubbed “NOM 2.0” by Nasdaq, is a bulk quoting functionality imported from sister exchange Phlx. It will permit market makers active on the Phlx to quote more easily on NOM.
Nasdaq’s plan is to roll out all symbols gradually between tomorrow and September 26.
