Ivan Brown, Head of Options at NYSE, posted online on LinkedIn that the bourse has opened a West Coast tradiing operation.
From LinkedIn:
NYSE ushered in a new era on the West Coast when we cut the ribbon on NYSE West – our new home base for the NYSE Arca Options trading floor in downtown San Francisco.
For more than 150 years, the NYSE has played a vital role within the West Coast financial community, tracing our roots all the way back to the San Francisco Stock and Bond Exchange. In fact, the NYSE Arca Options floor has operated continuously in San Francisco since its founding in 1976. Relocating this market to our new, enhanced space not only represents our continued commitment to our trading community – but to open-outcry trading as well. It will provide our trading participants with a modernized space that better reflects the NYSE of today, and is part of our ongoing strategy to advance all elements of our markets.
In addition, NYSE West will provide us with another touchpoint to engage with our community of listed companies and prospects. Those who have visited our 11 Wall Street location recently will have noted the extensive renovations we completed to the building over the past four years, including two floors of state-of-the-art event and conferencing space for our listed companies. NYSE West builds on this theme and we are excited for our West Coast companies to leverage this new space.
I want to thank our trading community and the many teams at NYSE whose considerable efforts and support over the last year have made this day possible. Heres to our next chapter!
