Last week, the brokers at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co and its affiliate BGC Partners raised an estimated $12 million for charities around the world at the companies annual Charity Day on Thursday, September 11,2014. Each year, Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC donate 100 percent of their global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and dozens of charities around the world.

Founded to commemorate the 658 Cantor and 61 Eurobroker employees lost in the 9/11 World Trade Canter attacks, Charity Day, in conjunction with the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, has raised an estimated $113 million globally to provide aid to victims of terrorism, natural disaster and emergencies.
At the Cantor Fitzgerald New York office, celebrity guests included actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Stiller, Michelle Williams, Ed Burns, Steve Buscemi, Michael J. Fox, Idina Menzel, Gina Gershon, Chazz Palminteri, AnnaSophia Robb, John Slattery, Patrick Wilson, Annalynne McCord and Zosia Mamet, to name just a few.
Leading athletes who joined included New York Nets point guard Deron Williams, New York Rangers Henrik Lundqvist and Martin St. Louis, New York Yankees CC Sabathia and Carlos Beltran, New York Mets Matt Harvey, and New York sports icons Mark Messier, Mariano Rivera, Willie Randolph, Dwight Doc Gooden, Olympic gold medallist winners Bode Miller and Mikaela Shiffrin and professional surfer Bethany Hamilton.
Top models included Christy Turlington, Karolina Kurkova, Cameron Russell, Constance Jablonski, and Jessica Stam, as well as musicians Jon Bon Jovi and Swizz Beatz. In addition, TV personalities Dr. Oz and Padma Lakshmi, and news journalists Tom Keene and Richard Lui, as well as Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio, joined Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day, among many others.
