Jefferies & Company added six professionals to its quantitative
strategies sales and trading group. Five come from UBS. One is from Liquidnet. They include Jatin Suryawanshi who joined Jefferies as a managing director and head of global quantitative strategies. He is responsible for developing the firm’s algorithmic trading product strategy and offering.
Partha Sarkar and Sanjay Girdhar joined Jefferies as senior vice presidents in
the firm’s quantitative strategies trading team. All three were previously at UBS. Suryawanshi was head of algorithmic trading for the Americas. Before that he was with Goldman Sachs in its algorithmic trading group. Sarkar and Girdhar were part of the algorithmic development team at UBS.
Jefferies also hired Michael Healey, James Gibbons and Stephanie Libien as part of its algorithmic specialist sales effort. Healey and Libien join from UBS. Healey is based in New York and Libien is based in San Francisco.
Gibbons joins Jefferies from Liquidnet, where he was a relationship manager. Previously, he worked at Miletus Trading before that firm’s acquisition by Liquidnet. Gibbons is based in New York.
