January is usually a sleepy time in the global caopital markets – but this one is proving to be an outlier. Instead of starting slowly, we have seen an end to the use of circuit breakers in the Chinese stock exchanges, some noteworthy volatility and panicked memo from an economist at the Royal Bank of Scotland.
