ConvergEx expanded its sales trading desk hiring Sean Croll, in San Francisco, as senior vice president and Alexander Krasutsky, in New York, as vice president. Croll previously served as a director and equity sales trader at Cowen and Company, and held senior trading positions at RBC Capital Markets, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, and Thomas Weisel Partners. Krasutsky has spent the past 12 years as senior vice president for trading at KBW, and previously served as a trader at Tucker Anthony. He began his career with clerk and floor broker positions at the New York Stock Exchange and Merrill Lynch.
The firm also brought on Paul Finnegan in its LiquidPoint options business as director of software sales. Finnegan will be responsible for developing LiquidPoints market data products and will also manage the sales of its LDB portfolio margining tools. He will be based in Chicago. Previously, Finnegan served as chief executive officer of Livevol, a provider of equity and index options technology and services. Prior to Livevol, he was senior vice president at NYSE Euronext and co-CEO of the NYSE Arca Options Exchange, where he was responsible for strategic development, market structure and operations. He began his career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).

E-distribution firm Caplin Systems announced John Ashworth as its new chief operating officer. Ashworth, a veteran with over 30 years experience, takes responsibility for global sales and marketing. He has worked at IBM, FENICS, GFI, Apama, FXall and most recently Thomson Reuters. He is based in Caplins London office.
Samuel Hikspoors joined Atlanta based money manager Invesco Ltd. as senior quantitative researcher in their global trading department. Hikspoors was previously a quantitative researcher at RGM Advisors responsible for developing high frequency trading and statistical arbitrage strategies. Hikspoors reports to Saurabh Srivastava, who in turn reports to Kevin Cronin.
