Jonathan Yalmokas has resigned as Bank of America Corp’s head of prime brokerage in the Americas to lead an equity financing business at Royal Bank of Canada, a person familiar with the move said. Yalmokas will start at RBC’s New York office in September in a bid to expand its financing business for investment managers, according to the person, who was not authorized to discuss the information publicly. RBC spokeswoman Hannah Sloane confirmed that Yalmokas would join the bank in September.Yalmokas had joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2011 from UBS Group AG, where he also worked in a role providing investment services to hedge funds. He resigned from the bank last week, the person said.
HKEX appointed Roland Chai as Managing Director, COO of its Clearing Division and Head of Clearing Risk Solutions. He reports to Calvin Tai, HKEX’s Joint COO and Head of Clearing.

Citadel Securities has named the former co-head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s electronic equities trading business in Europe to the board of its business in the region.Tony Walker has joined Citadel Securities European arm as an independent non-executive director, a spokeswoman confirmed. Walker departedBAML in October last year, a move that left Natan Tiefenbrun at the helm of the banks electronic equities business in Europe.

Rosenblatt Securities announced it hired veteran financial-services-industry analyst Christopher Allen. With over two decades as a securities analyst, Allen has developed a devoted following among investors in financial-services stocks, particularly those of global exchange operators such as CBOE Holdings, CME Group, IntercontinentalExchange and Nasdaq. He comes to Rosenblatt from Buckingham Research Group, where he covered exchanges, ebrokers and market-structure-related companies. Smyth will be responsible for expanding the sales effort that will service agency broker dealer desks.He was previously Head of Retail Equity Broker Dealer business at Cantor Fitzgerald where he built the desk from scratch and managed both exchange and OTC sales trading. In his new role, Marks brings over 20 years experience to IFS to help manage recruiting, business development, and acquisitions for the firm and its affiliated companies. Marks will work from the companys Atlanta headquarters.
UBS has hired Deutsche Banks former global head of equities funding and securities lending, Natalie Horton, as its new Head of Americas equity finance trading, according to media reports. Horton was with the German bank for nearly 15 years, according to her Linkedin profile, where she rose through the ranks of Deutsche Banks prime finance business. While there, she served as North America head of synthetic equity trading, and in 2014 she was named global COO of prime finance. In 2015, she was appointed global head of equities funding and securities lending.
