Japan based banking and financial services behemoth Nomura Holdings onboarded a new executive to serve as part of its eFX distribution team. The firm hired FX industry veteran Kate Massey to work in its e-FX distribution team focusing on EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Americas.
BNP Paribas Asset Management appointed David Vaillant as Global Head of Finance, Strategy & Participations. He succeeds Pascal Biville, Head of Strategy & Finance and Head of Affiliate Network, who has left the firm to pursue other opportunities. Valiant is based in Paris and reports to Frédéric Janbon, CEO of BNPP AM. He is a member of the Executive Committee. He is from BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking’s Financial Institutions Coverage division, where he was Head of Banking for EMEA.

Roben Dunkin has been named chief technology officer at PGIM, the $1.2 trillion investment management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. The new role has been established to guide a technology strategy that supports PGIM’s public and private investment businesses and clients globally. Dunkin brings to PGIM more than 25 years of financial services technology experience. She joined PGIM from Credit Suisse where she was a managing director. Prior to that she held various roles at Lehman Brothers, including global head of sales and banking IT. Dunkin will be based in PGIM’s Newark office.
SquareBook, the FCA regulated firm offering automated IPOs, landed two senior executives to their management team. Senior Banker Barry Wingate joins as Director and will be responsible for helping corporates and their advisors find the most suitable investors by using the SquareBook platform to manage the Initial Public Offering (IPO) process. Fred Huibers, a leading authority on primary market issuance, joins as Advisor, working with issuers to design an auction that works best for their firms.
Prior to joining SquareBook, Wingate spent over 20 years in investment banking and financial markets. He led the coverage of the energy services sector within HSBC’s Global Banking division before working with Buckthorn Partners on private equity transactions.
Renowned fund manager and academic Fred Huibers brings more than 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and investment to SquareBook. Previously, he was Head of Asset Management at Rabobank before he moved to ING, where he was responsible for international Equity Capital Market activities. Most recently, Fred entered academia as Associate Professor of Corporate Finance and Fintech at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
DriveWealth Holdings, a global digital trading technology company, named Julie Coin to the new position of President. Coin brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, where she has held various leadership roles in strategy, transformation management and operations at companies including Galaxy Digital, E*Trade Financial Corporation, Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch. She most recently held the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Galaxy Digital, after serving as an independent consultant for a variety of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency start-ups. Previously, Coin was COO of Retail Services, as well as Senior Vice President, Transformation Management, Technology Development and Infrastructure at E*Trade Financial Corporation. Prior to E*Trade, Coin was Global COO for Global Investment Solutions at Deutsche Bank Wealth Management, and Head of EMEA Strategy and Business Development for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Earlier in her career, she worked in investment banking and equity research.
BMLL Technologies, a Data-Engineering-as-a-Service company, snagged Lee Hodgkinson, CEO of OSTC, a leading global derivative trading and education firm, as a new Board member. Currently, Hodgkinson is the CEO of OSTC, a a leading global derivative trading and education firm. Over his 30-year career he has held senior positions across multiple exchanges and trading venues including CEO of Euronext London, CEO of SmartPool, as well as roles at SIX, NYSE Euronext, LIFFE & the London Stock Exchange.
Chicago-based R.J. O’Brien & Associates, hired Renée Laird as Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Commercial Agriculture and OTC Markets. Liard has more than 20-years in the grain industry and commodity markets. The firm also promoted Keith Riddoch to the new post of Head of Retail Futures, North America, and Wilson Tan to the new role of Head of Asia Sales.
Laird will oversee both the Commercial Agriculture and OTC initiatives, including the OTC Structured Products Group led by Melisa Culbertson, Executive Director and Senior Vice President, OTC Structured Products. Laird started her career as a grain merchandiser at Liberty Grain Co.
Riddoch, who has served as Executive Director and Country Head of RJO Canada and led the team’s retail and institutional sales, will retain responsibility for retail sales in Canada and oversee further growth in the United States.
Tan, who joined RJO in 2009 and has served for the past seven years as Executive Director, Country Head of Hong Kong, will broaden his responsibilities to lead the firm’s sales throughout Asia.
