Mizuho Securities USA named Brad Wilson as executive director to run U.S. equity sales trading. Wilson, a 20-year veteran, was previously with Dahlman Rose & Co. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years at Sanford C. Bernstein as a sales trader. His charge is to expand the trading desk and grow the business. Earlier this year, Wilson was appointed chairman of a new membership committee of the Security Traders Association of New York. At Mizuho, he reports to Raymond Velazquez, head of U.S. equities.
A group of traders in Boston have joined Saratoga Capital and opened the firm’s first office there. The group was previously with NavPoint. Gus Phelps will run the institutional sales and trading office. He will also be responsible for expanding Saratoga’s affiliate Forefront Capital, a service provider to money managers and hedge funds. The other trading pros are Joe Ranieri and Pat Morrissey, both 20-year veterans, and Brian O’Neill, a five-year pro. All four report to chief executive Kevin Tingley. Jon Lopez, director of research, also works in the office.
Doug Leo joins Raymond James as a managing director and head of commission management. Leo, a 17-year pro, will be responsible for building the firm’s commission management business. He was head of commission management at Thomas Weisel Partners for the last two years. Prior to that, he worked as a senior salesperson and in commission management at Lehman Brothers for 15 years. He reports to Dan McMahon, head of equity trading.
Exegy, a market data company, hires Victor Tohux as director of sales for the U.K. in its London office. Tohux, 10-year veteran, will focus on international clients who trade in London, Basildon, Slough and Frankfurt. Prior to Exegy, he worked for 10-years at Thomson Reuters providing market data services to banks, brokers, proprietary trading firms, and hedge funds. He reports to Jeff Britt, vice president in sales.
Daniel Klingenstein has joined Toro Trading as part of their equity options market making team. He previously worked as a market maker for Group One Trading.
