Its summertime. Shorts and bicycling are in season. So why not ride for charity?
And of course, lets not forget the pregame preparation. This year, the annual Wall Street Rides FAR charity bicycle ride that raises awareness of autism is set to kickoff this Wednesday night with cocktails at the Rare View in Chelsea, New York City. People interested in the event are invited to get the latest news on this years ride and the work being funded by the Autism Science Foundation. Also, there will be special Kick-Off registration pricing for riders. Attendees are welcome to complimentary beer and wine, plus delicious food as well as meeting several of the events key people.
During the past several years, the prevalence of autism, a developmental disorder that affects various abilities including social and motor skills, has risen dramatically. More than 1 in 68 children are affected by the debilitating condition, a number which is far larger than the 1 in 150 afflicted in 2000. Currently, there is no cure available and therapy is the only viable treatment choice for sufferers.
This years Wall Street Rides FAR ride will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017. The course revolves around several scenic routes in New York, all of which begin and end in Saxon Woods County Park in White Plains. The routes range in length from 4 to 62 miles, so anyone from the age of 2-200 can participate at a comfortable level and enjoy a fun-filled Fall day.

The earnings from the event go toward the previously mentioned Autism Science Foundation (ASF). The Autism Science Foundation is a non-for-profit organization founded in 2009 that is dedicated to combatting Autism Spectrum Disorders by providing funding and special assistance to scientists and other organizations that are involved with Autism research. All funds raised during Wall Street Rides FAR will go directly to the Autism Science Foundation in their continued quest to finding potential cures to the disability.
