Barchart, a provider of market data and technology, is pleased to announce thousands of additional data series available through cmdtyStatsSM- a powerful API that can be used to pull global fundamentals on economic data, commodity statistics, and world trade.
Users can now access key economic releases from the U.S. Census, including Construction Spending, New Home Sales, Durable Goods Orders, Manufacturers Shipments, and Wholesale trade through the cmdtyStats API or inside cmdtyView – Barcharts new platform for commodities professionals.
Barchart has also integrated notional measures of open interest and volume for most global commodity futures into the cmdtyStats API. For the first time, Barchart clients can now easily compare notional values of derivative stocks and flows against physical production and inventory data that is all available in the cmdtyStats database.
Barchart Head of Strategy and cmdty product lead Keith Petersen said, Barchart continues to invest in cmdtyStats by expanding on our already broad coverage of economic data and commodity fundamentals. Through the cmdty product line, we are focused on building highly structured data products, and serving clients as a single source for all commodity data needs across futures, cash, trading, and reference data.
The newly integrated data series sit alongside thousands of other structured data series from the USDA, EIA, and Bureau of Labor Statistics – with full historical data for all data series available. Users can leverage this data for many different use cases including, but not limited to:
- Research/Strategy – Power global macro models through one reliable API endpoint, and get regular updates to generate new trading signals.
- Display – Use cmdtyStats to power charts, tables, and analytics in your software or online product.
- Software – Integrate Barcharts economic data and pricing information into your software products as a tool to stress test portfolios.
As with all offerings in the cmdty product line, cmdtyStats sits alongside, and within, the innovative cmdtyView market data platform, which includes streaming news from cmdtyNewswires, and Barcharts proprietary cash commodity data.
