Interactive Brokers has introduced options trading in two of its trading apps – IBKR GlobalTrader, a mobile trading app for investors to trade stocks and now options, and IMPACT, a specialized app for ESG-focused investors.
“We continue to see interest in trading options from our active trader and institutional investor clients,” Steve Sanders, EVP of Marketing and Product Development at Interactive Brokers, told Traders Magazine.
According to Sanders, Interactive Brokers previously offered options trading through its flagship Trader Workstation, Client Portal and IBKR Mobile platforms.
“We wanted to give those clients who choose to trade using our new and straightforward IBKR GlobalTrader and ESG-focused IMPACT apps the ability to trade options in the current market environment,” he commented.
“Investors using IBKR GlobalTrader and IMPACT who might be new to trading options can take advantage of the Options Wizard tool that helps investors create their own combination strategies,” he added.
IBKR GlobalTrader and IMPACT are easy for investors to use and now include the new Options Wizard and Options Chain tools to help users understand how options work and how to trade them.
Interactive Brokers plans to add options trading in IBKR GlobalTrader and IMPACT in other entities soon.
‘We launched options trading in IBKR GlobalTrader and IMPACT for clients of IB LLC and plan to launch this in entities globally shortly,” said Sanders.
The Options Wizard helps investors create their own combination strategies. Investors respond to a few simple questions and select options strategies based on their preferences and market expectations.
The Options Chain provides more independent investors with a way to choose a single option or build a strategy leg-by-leg from a streamlined view.
“We continue to develop tools enabling investors to make informed investment decisions that can enhance their trading strategies,”he said.
““The simplicity of the IBKR GlobalTrader and IMPACT apps plus guidance from the options tools give any investor a straightforward way to learn about and start trading options,” he added.
