Arnuk co-authored the 2012 book Broken Markets: How High Frequency Trading and Predatory Practices on Wall Street are Destroying Investor Confidence and Your Portfolio.
The California Public Employees’ Pension Retirement System (CalPERS) has appointed Nicole Musicco as its new Chief Investment Officer. Musicco joins CalPERS from RedBird Capital Partners, where she led the firm’s Canadian investment business. Before that, she managed the private markets investment program at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario.
Brian Reisbeck has joined Coinme, a cryptocurrency cash exchange in the U.S., as its new Chief Compliance Officer. Reisbeck will help lead Coinme’s compliance program and guide the organization in maintaining regulatory compliance standards during the next stage of its growth and international expansion. He’s is a 20 year veteran in the financial services industry, having served as the chief compliance officer at a major U.S.-based crypto exchange, where he managed and supervised compliance and regulatory programs.
HarbourVest Partners has hired Bryce Klempner as a Managing Director. Klempner will be a member of the firm’s investment solutions and strategy teams focusing on new product innovation and strategic growth. Klempner was previously a partner at McKinsey and co-head of its Global Institutional Investor practice, advising pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices, as well as private equity firms and other types of investors.
Principal Financial Group has made two new leadership hires within compliance and investor relations. Noreen Fierro joins as Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing all regulatory compliance operations for the global company. Humphrey Lee has been named Vice president, Head of Investor Relations for Principal, effective February 28.
Christine Moy, Managing Director, Global Head of Liink, Crypto & Metaverse, Onyx by J.P. Morgan has announced her departure from the firm, Bloomberg reported. She is pursuing an external opportunity, according to an internal memo Tuesday from Umar Farooq, head of Onyx, JPMorgan’s blockchain unit. Moy will be replaced by Sushil Raja, most recently Onyx’s chief financial officer and head of strategy.
