The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced that Erik Gerding, Director of the Division of Corporation Finance, will depart the agency effective December 31, 2024. Upon his departure, Cicely LaMothe will serve as Acting Director. Gerding joined the SEC in October 2021 as a Deputy Director of the Division of Corporation Finance, where he led Legal and Regulatory Policy. He became the Division’s Director in February 2023. In addition, Haoxiang Zhu, Director of the Division of Trading and Markets, departed the agency on December 10. David Saltiel, a Deputy Director who also heads the Division’s Office of Analytics and Research, will serve as Acting Director.
Kevin Kennedy has been appointed to the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization’s (CIRO) Board of Directors as an Industry Director. Kennedy, who has worked in the capital markets for over 35 years, is Executive Vice-President and Head of North American Markets at Nasdaq, which includes its Canadian and U.S. operations. Prior to this role, he served as Head of U.S. Derivatives at Nasdaq responsible for a full slate of options and futures products.
BNP Paribas has appointed Guneet Dhingra as Head of US Rates Strategy and James Egelhof as Chief US Economist for Markets 360, the bank’s market strategy and economics division. Dhingra joins BNP Paribas after 16 years at Morgan Stanley, where he held numerous roles within the rates space, most recently as Head of US Rates Strategy. Egelhof led fundamental global macro research at Jane Street. Before entering the private sector, Egelhof spent a decade at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he led a quantitative multi-asset research team focused on monetary policy strategy and analysis of global markets.
28Stone, a provider of technology and consulting services to the capital markets industry, has hired Christopher Wilson as Global Head of Experience Modernization. He most recently served as Partner in Innovation & Design Practice at Ness Digital Engineering, where he established and led the Experience Design practice bringing design thinking to the firm’s engineering capabilities. Wilson got his start in the financial services industry developing trading platform software at RandomWalk Computing and MarketAxcess, and also held executive roles as Director of Mobile, Chief Product Officer and COO at Mint Digital.
Tony Paquette will be joining Galaxy Digital Holdings as Chief Financial Officer. He succeeds Alex Ioffe, who will transition into a Senior Advisor role at Galaxy on January 1, 2025. Paquette brings over 25 years of experience across a range of roles in financial services and fintech. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Point72 for over four years, leading the firm’s global finance, treasury, broker relations, real estate and facilities organizations.
London Stock Exchange Group has announced that Lloyd Pitchford will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director, with effect from April 30, 2025. Lloyd will also join the Audit, Risk and Nomination Committees. Lloyd is currently CFO of Experian. He is also Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Bunzl but will step down from those roles on April 23, 2025.
Broadridge Financial Solutions has appointed Stephanie Clarke as Head of International Strategy and Corporate Development, based in London. Previously, Clarke served as Senior Vice President of Data and Analytics at Broadridge. She joined Broadridge in 2016 from BlackRock, where she was the Global Head of Market Intelligence.
Michele G. Buck, has been elected as a director of JPMorganChase, effective March 17, 2025. She is Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of The Hershey Company. She brings more than 30 years of consumer-packaged goods experience. She held several senior leadership roles within Hershey prior to becoming CEO in 2017, serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer as well as President of its North America operations and Global Chief Growth Officer.
