Fidelity Investments has hired Joanna Rotenberg as Head of Personal Investing division, effective early November. Rotenberg succeeds Kathy Murphy. Earlier this year, Murphy announced her decision to step-away from her role before the end of the year. Rotenberg joins Fidelity from Toronto-based BMO Financial Group, where she has been serving as group head of Wealth Management since 2016 and as a member of the company’s Executive Committee since joining in 2010. Rotenberg will report to Abigail P. Johnson, Chairman and chief executive officer of Fidelity, and join the Fidelity Operating Committee.
Mike Johnson has been appointed as Global Product Manager of Derivatives Clearing at Broadridge. He will be responsible for growing Broadridge’s global cleared derivatives platform and maintaining strategic partnerships. In 2016, Johnson founded and ran Genesis Consulting and Solution Services, which provided operational services to financial services clients including Broadridge. Prior to this role, he was a derivatives specialist for Bank of America for 30 years.
Stanislav (Stan) Treger has joined Northern Trust as Behavioral Insights Advisor. He will lead The Northern Trust Institute’s efforts to build a data-driven approach to help clients identify, articulate, and advance their goals. Treger joins Northern Trust from Morningstar, where he was an in-house Senior Behavioral Scientist conducting experimental and survey research on the psychology of retirement.
BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed Maya Bhandari as Global Head of Multi-Asset, effective November 1. Based in London, she will report to Denis Panel, CIO of Multi-Asset, Quantitative & Solutions. Bhandari joins from Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where she was Executive Director of the Multi-Asset Portfolio business, managing and co-managing a global range of diversified growth, multi-asset income and institutional mandates.
Aquila Investment Management has added four new members to its investment team. The new hires include: Pedro Marcal as Director of Equities and High Yield and portfolio manager, David Schiffman as portfolio manager, John McPeake as portfolio manager and Steven Yang as research analyst. Previously, Marcal was founder and owner with Maccabee; Schiffman was Chief Investment Officer and Senior Portfolio Manager of The Terra Group; McPeake was a senior analyst at Rosenblatt Securities, whereas Yang has previously worked at Fred Alger Management.
Capitolis has hired Christopher Pennington as EVP of Sales. Pennington brings 30 years of experience in sales leadership, having built and run successful teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia at high-growth tech companies including Google Cloud, Microsoft and IBM. He most recently served as Vice President of Global Accounts at Palo Alto Networks.
Trumid has hired Bryan Harkins in a newly created role of Chief Revenue Officer. Harkins will oversee the firm’s sales organization, with a focus on continued growth of its existing business and commercial leadership of Trumid’s protocol, product and geographic expansions. He joins Trumid from Cboe Global Markets, where he held a variety of executive roles, including EVP & Head of Markets Division, and most recently as President of the BIDS Trading subsidiary.
7 Chord has appointed Andrew Sundstrom as its Chief Science Officer to lead the new phase of development and innovation of BondDroid, a proprietary AI engine. Sundstrom is a seasoned engineer and researcher with 28 years of cross-disciplinary scientific and industry experience at Nortel Networks, IBM Research, Morgan Stanley, and recently at Nanotronics, where he developed artificial intelligence methods to make factories smarter and more resilient to errors and sophisticated cyberattacks.
