Liquidnet has hired Jeffrey Crane as Head of International in the Americas. Crane brings over two decades of experience in institutional equity trading. Crane is based in New York and reports directly to Alan Polo, Head of Equity Sales and Trading, Americas. He joins Liquidnet from SageTrader where he served as managing director and Head of Sales, and oversaw new business growth for domestic and international trading. Prior to SageTrader, Crane spent more than 20 years with Instinet where he held various roles, including managing the company’s cross-border business as Head of their International Desk in New York.
SIFMA has appointed Stephen Byron as Managing Director, Head of Technology, Operations and Business Continuity. In this role, he will oversee SIFMA’s technology and operations activities including market operations and resiliency, business continuity planning and cyber security. In addition to serving as SIFMA’s principal liaison to member firm senior operations personnel, he will manage relationships with relevant regulators, industry utilities and technology providers. Byron joins SIFMA from Goldman Sachs where he served as Vice President and Operations Senior Leader of Equities Post Trade Transformation and Strategy.
CME Group has appointed Mike Dennis as Global Head, Fixed Income. He will also lead BrokerTec, an electronic cash trading platform for U.S Treasury benchmarks, E.U., U.K. and U.S. Repo trading. Dennis will report to CME Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Terry Duffy and serve on the company’s Management Team. He will resign from the CME Group Board of Directors effective immediately and begin this position with the company on August 5. Tim McCourt will lead all the company’s other financial business lines including equity indexes, foreign exchange and cryptocurrency futures and options, as well as its EBS spot FX platform, as Global Head, Equities, FX, and Alternative Products. He will continue to serve on the company’s Management Team reporting to Duffy.
DTCC has added four new Board Members have joined its Board of Directors. The new Directors are Brian Gallagher of JPMorgan Chase, Christopher Gelvin of UBS, Jon Herrick of the New York Stock Exchange and Igor Modlin of Goldman Sachs. Gallagher leads a global team that is responsible for all aspects of operational support for the Markets Sales and Trading businesses. Gallagher has worked at JPMorgan Chase for 23 years, holding various roles and leadership positions at the firm. Gelvin is responsible for strategic planning and operating management for GOTO, data governance and the technology investment portfolio across the firm. He has been with UBS for nearly 20 years, holding several leadership roles in Operations and Technology. Herrick oversees the NYSE’s transactions and market data businesses, driving competitive strategy and distribution. Modlin serves as Global Head of Prime Services Product Development at Goldman Sachs, where he is responsible for Prime Services’ front to back efforts. He is also a member of the U.S. Client Assets Steering Committee. Modlin joined Goldman Sachs in 2005 and was named managing director in 2010 and partner in 2018.
J.P. Morgan Private Capital, a venture and growth equity investment team within J.P. Morgan Asset Management Alternatives, has appointed Joseph Siletto as a new Managing Partner, reporting to Stephen Squinto.
