ON THE MOVE: Kevin Cronin Retires From Invesco; David Kalita Becomes CEO of Quantitative Brokers

Kevin Cronin has informed the LinkedIn community that he retired from Invesco at the end of 2023. He joined Invesco in 1997 as the Head of Listed Equity Trading for Invesco Aim and later became Director of Equity Trading. In January 2007, Invesco named Cronin the Global Head of Equity Trading. Overall, he spent at Invesco nearly 27 years in various roles. Before joining Invesco, he was Director of Equity Trading for First Union Capital Management in Charlotte and served as the lead fund manager of the Evergreen Enhanced Equity Fund. Cronin shared that he has had a number of inquiries, but for now he plans to take some time off to think about exactly what he wants to do going forward. “There are so many new and exciting things to pursue – and I have too much energy, passion, and value left to give the working world, to simply fade into the background,” he said.

David Kalita

Quantitative Brokers (QB), a provider of advanced execution algorithms and data-driven analytics for global Futures, Options, and OTC Fixed Income markets, has named David Kalita as Chief Executive Officer, based at the firm’s New York headquarters. He succeeds QB CEO and Co-Founder Christian Hauff, who stepped down at year-end 2023 and remains on the Board of Directors. Kalita joins QB after more than a decade at Bridgewater Associates, where he was most recently Head of Product Management in Trading. 

AJ Maggio

KeyBanc Capital Markets (KBCM), the corporate and investment banking arm of Cleveland-based KeyCorp, has hired AJ Maggio as Managing Director and National Sales Manager of Fixed Income, based in the firm’s Chicago office. Maggio has nearly 20 years of fixed income sales and trading experience. Prior to joining KBCM, he was Co-Head of Capital Markets at Hilltop Securities. He joined Hilltop to build out their electronic trading platform and was also a corporate bond trader. Previously, he ran the electronic trading platform and third-party distribution for all fixed income at Morgan Stanley.

Steven Brenner, Senior VP, Manager, and partner at Cantor Fitzgerald Dallas will be retiring from the firm on February 9, he told Traders Magazine. He spent over 38 years at the firm and managed the Dallas office from 1988 until 2014 on the Equity Sales/Trading desk. Commenting on his next move, he said: “No plans yet! Something other than this.”

JonesTrading Institutional Services has named Jason Weaver as Managing Director, Equity Research. Weaver will focus on Specialty Finance and Real Estate. He reports to Soumit Roy, Head of JonesTrading Research. Weaver has 20 years of investment experience and 13 years in equity research, covering the specialty/mortgage finance and real estate sectors at firms including Sterne Agee, Wedbush, and Compass Point.

LiquidityBook, a provider of cloud-native buy- and sell-side trading solutions, has appointed Jason Morris as its new President. With an impressive track record in the industry and prior executive leadership roles, Morris brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position. Morris previously spent nearly eight years at Enfusion, where he served as the Global Head of Corporate Development, and before that, as President, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s sales, marketing, product, operations, finance, and HR departments.

STP Investment Services (STP), a global provider of technology-enabled, end-to-end investment servicing solutions, has appointed Anthony Mannino as General Counsel. Mannino brings nearly 30 years of legal and operational experience in the financial services industry. He was most recently General Counsel at Houwzer, a venture-backed real estate and financial services provider based in Philadelphia. His prior legal roles included serving as chief of staff for two members of Pennsylvania’s General Assembly, as well as more than a decade as a commercial litigator in private practice.

Canoe Intelligence has named Noel Calhoun as Chief Technology Officer and Tiffany Mosher Taylor as Head of People. With 30 years of distinguished experience in technology leadership, Calhoun he was previously CTO at Onsites.io, Interos, and Kensho Technologies. He has also contributed over 13 years of exemplary service in the CIA, where he spearheaded the creation and leadership of data science and machine learning teams. Bringing over 25 years of HR leadership, Mosher Taylor has a proven track record in senior positions, including Head of People at Appcues and Chief People Officer at PatientPing.
