The Charles Schwab Corporation has appointed Rick Wurster as President, effective October 15, 2021. In his new role, Wurster will report to Walt Bettinger, CEO. Wurster is currently a Managing Director and head of Schwab Asset Management. He joined Schwab in early 2016 and has worked closely with Mr. Bettinger and other Schwab executives over the past five years. Before joining Schwab, he was employed at Wellington Management and McKinsey & Company.
Lincoln Financial Group has promoted Talbert Thomas to Senior Vice President of IT Strategy, Operations and Finance. In this role, Thomas oversees IT strategy and performance including IT finance, operations, metric analysis, continuous improvement, agile and digital adoption. Thomas joined Lincoln Financial in 2017 in a consulting role and quickly advanced to become vice president of Digital Strategy Management prior to his latest promotion.
T. Rowe Price Group has hired Theresa McLaughlin as Head of Global Marketing, effective October 25. McLaughlin will be based at the firm’s corporate headquarters in Baltimore and report to Robert Higginbotham, head of Global Distribution. With more than 25 years of financial industry experience, she most recently served as executive vice president and global chief marketing officer for State Street Corporation. Prior to State Street, she spent eight years at TD Bank Group.
Insigneo, a Miami-based independent broker-dealer, has incorporated new top talent as three Advisors from Amerant Bank join the firm’s independent network based in Miami. The Advisors are Vicent Costa, Ciro Vasquez, and Juan Zenck, who came together from Amerant Bank to form a team at Insigneo. Costa most recently worked with Amerant Bank (previously known as Mercantil Commercebank). Prior to working for Amerant Bank, Ciro Vasquez also worked at Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust and Banco de Venezuela. Zenck previously worked at Wells Fargo Advisors, Morgan Stanley, and RBC before joining his new team members at Amerant Bank.

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Lord Hammond of Runnymede, has joined digital asset custody and trading infrastructure vendor Copper.
Lord Hammond will provide strategic advice to the Copper team as the company expands globally. Lord Hammond served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2016 to 2019, Foreign Secretary from 2014 to 2016, and Defence Secretary from 2011 to 2014.
Fidel API, a financial infrastructure API provider, has Kevin Akerman as Vice President of Global Strategic Initiatives, Mounir Mouawad as Vice President of Payments and Emerging Products and Carlos Vilhena as Head of Engineering. Akerman has spent the last 11 years leading Visa’s product strategy and business development. Mouawad joins Fidel API from Google, where he oversaw the product strategy and European operations for Google Pay. Vilhena joins from Talkdesk where he oversaw several engineering teams working on some of the most critical services and APIs within the company.
