State Street Corporation has appointed Jessica Donohue as head of Global Investment Insights, Sustainability and Impact. Donohue succeeds Rick Lacaille who announced his retirement earlier this year. She will report to Lou Maiuri, president, chief operating officer, and head of Investment Services. Donohue has held a variety of senior roles for more than two decades with State Street including leading Investor Behavior Research at State Street Associates, the company’s partnership with academia, and then expanding her role to head this group.
Sterling Trading Tech (STT) has appointed Brendan O’Sullivan as Chief Operating Officer. He will be responsible for leading STT’s operational management. Prior to joining STT, he served as the Global Head of Managed Services at Vela (now Exegy), where he led a team of engineers in software deployment, change management and global market data. Before Vela, O’Sullivan was Managing Director of Managed Services at NYSE Technologies.
New York Stock Exchange Chief Operating Officer Michael Blaugrund is leaving to run the fintech investing company DriveWealth, Bloomberg reported. Blaugrund will start as chief executive officer of DriveWealth. He spent the last seven years at NYSE in leadership roles including head of the equities and transactions groups. Blaugrund also worked at competitor exchange firm Nasdaq in transaction services.
Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner Christy Goldsmith Romero has announced that Scott Lee will serve as her Senior Counsel and Policy Advisor. Lee rejoins the CFTC from the Securities and Exchange Commission where he worked in the Division of Investment Management. While at the SEC, he was detailed to the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services where he worked on the Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets.
Citi has appointed Flavio Figueiredo Global Head of Foreign Exchange. A Citi veteran, Flavio began his career at Citi in São Paulo in 1989 (bio and photo attached).He was most recently Global Head of Corporate Sales and Solutions in Markets.
Mike Heraty has joined RBC Capital Markets as a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Equity Solutions and Structured Product Sales. Mike will support RBC’s strategic priority of growing its Equity Structured Product and QIS business with institutional and private bank clients, including pension funds, insurance, asset managers, hedge funds, and banks. This hire demonstrates RBC’s ongoing commitment to further develop its equity derivatives platform and grow our client franchise in the U.S. Mike joins from Credit Suisse where he spent four years as Head of North American Equity Derivative Sales
TransFICC has opened a new office in New York, staffed by Sean Murphy, Bo-Yun Liu and Khagay Nagdimov, who have joined the firm. Murphy joined from BrokerTec as Senior Sales Executive to lead North American new business. Liu joined as Pre-Sales Engineer to lead Client Architecture Solutioning globally. Nagdimov joined as Pre-Sales Engineer.
