Carlos Salcedo has been appointed Head of Capital Markets Financing Sales Americas at UBS, effective September 1. He will be based in New York and report to Dan Murphy, Americas Head of Franchise Sales. Carlos joins UBS from Barclays, where he served as Head of Delta 1 Sales for the Americas since 2009. In this role, Carlos helped enhance Barclays’ Custom Baskets business by targeting factors, fundamental research views on sector plays, event-driven catalyst, and long/short themes with refined alpha/beta risk metrics.
The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation has appointed Leigh-Ann Russell as Chief Information Officer and Global Head of Engineering. Russell will join the company on September 15, reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer, Robin Vince, and will be a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Russell joins BNY from bp where she most recently served as Executive Vice President of Innovation and Engineering, overseeing digital, information technology and cybersecurity operations as well as engineering, safety and science.
DriveWealth, a financial technology platform providing Brokerage-as-a-Service, has announced the promotions of three members of the company’s senior leadership team, effective immediately. Jason Pizzorusso will serve as President; Marcus Anthony has been named Chief Financial Officer; and Emily Ellis has been promoted to Chief People Officer. Pizzorusso, who joined DriveWealth in May 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, will now serve as DriveWealth’s President. Anthony will shift from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Financial Officer. Having joined DriveWealth in November 2021 after advising the company on its Series D fundraising, he has played an active role in the firm’s general management, including leading both corporate strategy and investor relations. Joining DriveWealth’s C-suite, Ellis will transition from serving as Head of People to Chief People Officer. Bringing extensive experience from organizations like Lyft that successfully matured from a growth stage to public companies, she joined DriveWealth in January 2022.
DTCC has added four new Board Members to its Board of Directors: Brian Gallagher, Global Head of Markets Operations, JPMorgan Chase, Christopher Gelvin, Group Operations and Technology Office (GOTO) Chief Operating Officer at UBS, Jon Herrick, Chief Product Officer at the New York Stock Exchange and Igor Modlin Global Head of Prime Services Product Development at Goldman Sachs.
Sigma, a data analytics solution built natively for cloud scale, has added two new executives: Christina Liu as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Ali Harmer as General Counsel. Prior to joining Sigma, Liu served as the Chief Accounting Officer at Confluent, where she supported the company’s IPO and significant growth as a category-defining company to enable data streaming. Harmer joins Sigma after serving as a partner and associate at Coda Law Group, where she practiced in the area of technology transactions with an emphasis on sales transactions, strategic business development, and channel partner programs.
