Christina Sanchez, a highly experienced Business Manager for ICAP US Equity and Equity Derivatives, has recently joined the Rides FAR Board, a role she eagerly embraced this year.
With over two decades of expertise in equity and equity derivatives, Sanchez’s new role aligns with her personal and professional commitment to community service and inclusion.
Sanchez’s connection to the cause is deeply personal, several childhood friends and colleagues have children with autism, which fuels her passion for supporting initiatives that improve their quality of life. “Getting the best care for their kids is what made me want to be part of this,” she explained.
Her involvement with Rides FAR (For Autism Research) offers a meaningful way to contribute to the Autism Science Foundation (ASF), benefiting from her extensive industry experience and personal drive.
When Wall Street Rides FAR co-founder Bryan Harkins approached her with this opportunity, Sanchez saw it as a perfect way to give back and support her friends. “As a parent myself, it’s something that you live with every day. You lose sleep, just wanting the best for your own children,” she reflected.
In her current role, Sanchez applies her financial expertise, while also leading TP ICAP’s employee volunteer networks, showcasing her dedication to diversity, inclusion, and community service. She is also a Certified EMR and volunteers with her town’s first aid squad and fire police, underscoring her commitment to making a positive impact in her community.
Sanchez advocates for open conversations about autism to drive awareness and reduce stigma. “Autism is a lifelong journey. It’s not something that just goes away over time or gets better with medication,” she stressed. By fostering dialogue and connecting people, she aims to raise awareness and build supportive communities.
On the Rides FAR Board, Sanchez contributes to the planning and improvement of the charity events. This year, the focus is on enhancing family-friendly activities, including activities for children and carers who may not be participating in the rides themselves.
The goal is to ensure a fulfilling experience for all attendees and to explore new ways to expand and enrich the event, such as potential virtual rides or new city locations. She also spoke about her fellow board members: “They motivate you, and their passion and excitement is inspiring.”
ICAP’s sponsorship of Rides FAR reflects their broader commitment to charitable causes, including significant charity days where brokers donate all commissions to global charities. Past support for autism charities includes Parents of Autistic Children of Ocean County, Autism Science Foundation, The School for Children with Hidden Intelligence, Institute for Educational Achievement, and Hope Autism.
Through her work with Rides FAR and ICAP’s charitable initiatives, Sanchez continues to make a significant impact, both personally and professionally.
