Global Prime Partners has appointed Sean Capstick as Head of Prime Brokerage. Capstick, who expects to double the size of the Companys broking business in three years, joins from RWC Partners, an equity asset manager where he was both a member of the management committee and also Head of New Markets. Prior to this, Capstick was European Head of Prime Brokerage at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He has also held senior positions at Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.

Aqua Securities hired sales trader Danielle Jarnot as Vice President of Institutional Sales and Trading. She will focus on expanding the firms client roster and block trading capabilities. Prior to Aqua, Jarnot spent over 10 years in buy side asset management roles including analytics, equities and convertible bond trading with GIC Asset Management and MSD Capital.
S3 announced the appointment of Jeremy Vest as Vice President of Client Services, effective immediately. Additionally, the Company has appointed Rob Olkiewicz, formerly Vice President of Operations at S3, as Vice President of Client Integration, also effective immediately.
Vest and Olkiewicz will support S3s growing customer base, as the Company has signed a number of new, major firms as clients utilizing its analytical tools for equities and options in 2015. S3 has expanded its staff throughout the year and implemented major enhancements to its product offerings, as well as its back-end capacity to ensure a seamless experience for market makers, exchanges, broker-dealers, banks and institutions using the Companys market structure analytics software.
Nasdaq has hired Singapore Exchange Ltd. Chief Information Officer Bob Caisley to help oversee its market-technology development, according to an internal company memo.
Caisley will start at Nasdaq in February as senior vice president of market-technology systems and will be based in Stockholm. Caisley has also worked at Sydney-based ASX Ltd. A Nasdaq spokesman confirmed the contents of the memo.
He will report to Nasdaq CIO Brad Peterson.
J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is planning to fire its market maker on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for poor performance during theAug. 24 market mayhem, among other issues, according to people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal reported. The bank recently informed the exchange that it was seeking to replace KCG as its DMM, and the NYSE sent an announcement to several of the exchanges designated market makerson Mondayinforming them that the bank will be interviewing potential replacement traders onDec. 8.KCG will have an opportunity to re-interview for the job.
Fidessa has appointed Paul Dex as Business Development Manager for its EMEA derivatives business. Dex has held a number of senior roles in derivatives, most recently as managing director of financial product development at BNY Mellon. Prior to that he spent 10 years at London derivatives exchange LIFFE, where he eventually rose to run its European sales operation, and has also held key roles at SEB Futures and RBS Futures.
