State Street Corporation appointed Ann Fogarty to executive vice president and deputy head of Global Delivery with responsibility for State Street’s custody, middle office, transfer agency and client service operations. Fogarty will report to Liz Nolan, executive vice president and head of Global Delivery. She will also join State Street’s Management Committee. Fogarty joins from BNY Mellon where she was most recently Executive Committee member responsible for leading the Global Operations organization and supporting every stage of the client investment lifecycle and overseeing a team of more than 20,000. She held a variety of senior positions since joining BNY Mellon in 1988, including head of EMEA Investment operations and managing director leading the provision of fund accounting, transfer agency and middle office services to mutual, ETF and alternative fund clients.
LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group plc) appointed Lea Carty to a new senior leadership role with responsibility for driving sustainable growth for investment management customers. Carty will be based in the US and will report to Andrea Remyn Stone, Chief Product Officer, Data & Analytics. Carty brings over 25 years’ leadership experience and deep industry expertise in indexing and portfolio analytics, gained in senior roles at Moody’s, Lehman Brothers and Bloomberg. With over ten years at Bloomberg, where he was global head of buyside solutions, he developed and ran the portfolio analytics and index business, including the acquisition of the Barclays Risk Analytics and Index Services.
BTON Financial, a broker-neutral dealing desk technology for investment managers, appointed Ray Tierney as Non-Executive Director. Ray joins BTON having held a variety of leadership roles in the financial markets industry including Global CEO of Trading Solutions at Bloomberg LP where he oversaw 600+ employees across 3 business units and all aspects of the firm’s OMS business, including product innovation, sales and strategy. Prior to Bloomberg Ray served as Global Head of Trading and Execution for Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
BestEx Research Group, a provider of algorithmic execution and measurement solutions for equities, futures, and FX trading, appointed Dave Conner and John King as Managing Directors of Client Services, reporting to CEO Hitesh Mittal. Conner has more than 25 years’ experience in institutional electronic trading. He has held numerous leadership roles including Head of Electronic Sales at PaineWebber, Head of Electronic Sales for the Americas at Lehman Brothers, Head of Electronic Sales for the Americas at J.P. Morgan, and Director of Platform Sales at Citi. King spent 12 years as a founding employee and Director of Sales at LiquidNet, where he helped launch LiquidNet Canada as its Co-Founder. He has also contributed to the growth of multi-asset financial technologies firms 360 Trading Networks and Dash Financial Technologies.
Capco, a global technology and management consultancy, appointed Jeremy Stierwalt as a Partner within its US Data practice. He is based in Capco’s Chicago office and will be responsible for defining the US Data practice’s go-to-market strategy, growing its current capabilities, and developing new solutions around data engineering, cloud data migration, cloud-centric implementations, and cloud-enabled data supply chains. Stierwalt brings more than 20 years of experience in technology strategy, data and analytics. He joins Capco from consultancy Protiviti, where he served as Global Enterprise Information Management Lead & Managing Director within the Technology Consulting Practice. Prior to that, Jeremy held leadership roles at ZEDventures, NTT DATA and Actazif.
Baton Systems, a provider of post-trade systems for capital markets, appointed Aaron Ayusa as Director of Client Success. He will be based in New York and report to Baton’s Head of Business Development, Tucker Dona. Ayusa has over a decade of experience in the FX space, both in settlements and automation. Before joining Baton, Aaron spent ten years at Credit Suisse, where he was most recently AVP, Cash Products and Metrics Analysis, and oversaw various global FX initiatives and process improvements through robotics and technology. Prior to this, Aaron held roles as a senior analyst for prime swaps and senior analyst for FX operations. He has also represented Credit Suisse on various industry forums and working groups, including the FX Operations Managers Working Group (FX OMWG).
Limeglass, the J.P. Morgan-backed financial research innovation company, appointed Steven Saywell as a strategic advisor. Saywell has headed research teams for a number of institutions, including roles as Chief Currency Strategist at Citi and Global Head of FX Strategy at BNP Paribas. Most recently he spearheaded an initiative to promote research content across asset classes to the world’s top fund managers.
Goldman Sachs promoted Matthew Verrochi to help lead fixed-income sales in the Americas alongside Av Bhavsar, Blomberg reported, citing an internal memo. The 17-year veteran of the firm was previously the regional head for the trading division in San Francisco, and will move to New York to take on the new role, Bloomberg reported.
Also at Goldman Sachs, the bank poached Mitchell Story from Bank of America, where he was managing director in equity derivatives trading, Insider reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. Story, who specializes in index volatility trading, resigned from BofA and will join Goldman as a senior derivatives trader, Insider reported.
