In this Traders gallery, we highlight more senior level and sales trader moves that might have gone unnoticed during the holiday season. Dan Mathisson, the executive who helped build Credit Suisse Group AG into an electronic-trading powerhouse over the past decade, plans to leave the bank at the end of next month. A contributor for Traders, he most recently served as head of U.S. equity trading at the firm. It is said he plans to open his own asset-management business next year. Barclays has named Richard Evans, previously its COO for equities in EMEA, as its new head of equities business in the region. Before joining Barclays in 2012 he was head of Delta One strategies in European equities at Morgan Stanley and, prior to that, was global head of electronic trading at Citigroup. Former ConvergEx alum and Traders contributor, Craig Viani joins Liquidnet as an Execution Consultant in the firm's Algo Servicing Group. A 20-year veteran, Viani reports to Michael Capelli, Head of Algo Servicing Group. He will consult with clients on the optimal selection and usage of Liquidnet algorithms as well as in the interpretation of post trade TCA to improve upon execution quality. ITG's O'Hara is retiring from the firm's Board of Directors. She joined the Board in 2003 and has served as Chair since 2007. her last day will be January 15, 2016. ITG's Chris Dodds also is retiring from the firm's Board. He joined the Board in 2008 and left last December. Commenting on his retirement, Dodds said, "Due to demands from my other professional responsibilities, I have concluded, after several weeks of deliberation and discussion with the company, that it is time for me to retire from the Board." Bryan Blake joins ITG Canada as chief executive of of TriAct Canada Marketplace LP, the firm's Canada-based exchange and TMX Group competitor. Jeanne Austin was named vice president- Asia Market Equities at Mischler Financial. Austin spent the last five years with Cabrera trading Asian equities. Before that, she was a trader at Susquehanna Group for seven years. Earlier, Austin held trade desk roles at Schwab Capital Markets and Knight Securities. Larry Peruzzi appointed managing director, Global Equities at Mischler Financial. Peruzzi, a 20 year global trading markets veteran, has spent 10 years on the buyside and brings that experience to the sellside broker. He ran the buyside trading desks for Standish Mellon and thereafter, The Boston Company. More recently, Peruzzi was a managing director in International Trading for Cabrera Capital Markets. Patrick Morrissey joined as a vice president - European Equities, at Mischler. Morrissey, a buysider for 16 years, was a senior equities trader at The Boston Company during the earlier part of his career. In 2009, he migrated to the sell-side and spent the last 8 years at Cabrera, Jopnes trading and other boutique brokers. Tim Casey was appointed vice president U.S. Domestic Equities at Mischler. Casey, with nearly 25-years as a sales trader, comes from Cabrera Capital Markets. He also has buyside trading experience coming from a stint at Standish Mellon. Casey has also been on the board of the Boston chapter of the Securities Traders Association (BSTA) for 8 years. ShareTweetShare
