BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business has announced three new hires to its agency lending business in the US. John Fox has joined as Head of US Agency Lending. He brings over 25 years’ experience in the financial and securities lending markets, being most recently Head of Client Management and Sales – North America for BNY Mellon, and prior to this Head of US Client Services – for Deutsche Bank. In addition, Alex King and Vincent Modica have joined as traders.
State Street Global Advisors, the asset management business of State Street Corporation, has hired Anna Paglia as executive vice president and chief business officer, effective early next year. Paglia joins State Street Global Advisors from Invesco where she served as global head of ETFs, Indexed Strategies, SMAs and Models. During her tenure at Invesco, she led innovation by overseeing investment operations and commercialization strategy for Invesco’s indexed products.
Hazeltree has appointed Scott Metro as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Scott brings more than 25 years of experience in assisting clients in complying with current regulations and implementing secure processes and systems while leveraging emerging technology. He joins Hazeltree having recently retired from PwC, where he most recently was a partner in the Cyber, Risk and Regulatory practice, and led the firm’s global Financial Services Risk and Compliance Transformation Campaign. During his 26 years at PwC, Scott’s work spanned both PwC’s external audit practice as well as its risk and regulatory consulting practice.
Macquarie Asset Management has appointed Vivek Bommi as Head of Leveraged Credit. Based in Philadelphia, Bommi joins Macquarie Asset Management with 25 years of industry experience, having spent the last 15 years in senior roles across Leveraged Credit. Most recently, he was Head of European and UK Fixed Income at Alliance Bernstein, and prior to that, he spent more than ten years at Neuberger Berman within Leveraged Credit in various roles including Director of Research, Portfolio Manager, and Head of Europe.
XTB, a global fintech offering online investing platform and mobile app, has appointed Tomasz Gawron to lead the company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) department. Gawron is an experienced programmer, robotics expert and a co-author of several studies on mobile robotics. He has extensive teaching and training experience gained from supervising Robotics and Computer Science students at Poznan University of Technology. Most recently, he was AI research and engineering lead at Wunderman Thompson Technology.
D.A. Davidson & Co. has hired Burton Vance and Matt Michalski both as Managing Director, Institutional Sales by the Equity Capital Markets Group. Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Vance joins D.A. Davidson after 29 years with Truist on the institutional equities team, most recently as Managing Director, Equity Sales. Based in Boston, Michalski has over 23 years of institutional equity sales experience with Truist and its predecessor, Robinson Humphries, most recently as Director.
