Instinet Incorporated has appointed Gerry Milligan as President and Head of the Americas for Instinet. Milligan re-joins Instinet from Credit Suisse, where he was Head of AES/Electronic Products for the Americas. His appointment is part of Instinet’s continued investment in its Electronic business, which has also seen the recent addition of senior hires Dan Crowley, Head of Americas Electronic Trading; Jennifer Pyrka, Head of Americas Execution Sales; and Stavan Mistry, Head of Americas Algo Trading. They will all be part of the Instinet Americas management team going forward.
LME Group has appointed Alistair Baldwin as its new Chief Technology Officer. Alistair will join the Group on 15 January 2024, succeeding Mario Quonils who has decided to relocate back to Germany. He joins the Group from NatWest Markets, where most recently he held the role of Chief Information Officer and was a member of the NatWest Markets Executive Committee and NatWest Group One Bank Leadership Team. Prior to his roles at NatWest Markets, Baldwin was Global Head of Equities IT at HSBC from 2011 to 2018.
PrimaryBid has appointed Stacey Parsons as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income. With over 25 years’ industry experience, including significant time as a retail gilt-edged market maker (GEMM), Parsons also serves as the founder and Chair of the Investor Access to Regulated Bonds working group (IARB) and is a member of London Stock Exchange Group’s Primary Markets Group. She was previously Head of Fixed Income Strategy at Winterflood Securities.
CIBC Capital Markets has hired Eric Grossman as Executive Director in Prime Brokerage Sales. He join from Barclays where he worked as Director, Prime Brokerage Sales Origination for the past two years. Prior to that he spent 12 years at BNP Paribas as Director, Prime Brokerage Sales.
Christine Scaffidi and Christopher Fonte have joined Versana as Head of Product and Head of Sales, respectively, reporting directly to Cynthia Sachs, Founding CEO. Scaffidi boasts an impressive background on both the vendor and banking sides of the market. Most recently, she was Senior Principal Product Manager for Corporate & Syndicated Lending at Finastra, and previously held the position of Head of Commercial Lending Services at Commerzbank. Fonte joined most recently from Amazon Web Services, and previously Bloomberg LP, where he held senior sales roles in the U.S and Europe.
