ON THE MOVE: Grayscale Investments Gets Peter Mintzberg; NinjaTrader Makes Senior Hires

Peter Mintzberg

Grayscale Investments has appointed Peter Mintzberg as Chief Executive Officer, effective August 15, 2024, at which time Mintzberg will also join Grayscale’s Board of Directors. Mintzberg has over 20 years of experience across the world’s leading asset managers. He joins Grayscale from Goldman Sachs where he currently holds the position of Global Head of Strategy for Asset and Wealth Management. Prior to that, he held a number of global leadership roles in Strategy, M&A and Investor Relations at BlackRock, OppenheimerFunds, and Invesco. Mintzberg succeeds Michael Sonnenshein, who has stepped down from the position to pursue other interests. In the intervening period, Grayscale’s Chief Financial Officer Edward McGee will assume the role of principal executive officer with responsibility for leading the firm.

Ryan Pitylak

NinjaTrader, a fintech platform for retail futures trading, has added four experienced executives to its leadership team. Ryan Pitylak, a veteran executive with over 15 years of experience in marketing, strategy, and operations, joins as Executive Vice President of Growth. Pitylak previously held key roles at ZenBusiness. Aditya Nishandar steps in as Chief Technology Officer, bringing with him an impressive background in technology leadership and innovation. After a successful career supporting trading at Goldman Sachs for 12 years, Nishandar served as the Senior Director of Carta Liquidity. John O’Neil assumes the role of General Manager of Evaluation Services, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of driving impactful results across various industries, including retail trading. His extensive background includes leading FXCM through a period of rapid growth and global expansion. Michael Krafft joins as Vice President of Product. With an impressive career spanning roles at TrueML, Alight Solutions, and American Express, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to drive innovation, develop machine learning-powered decision engines, and deliver impactful client-facing applications and solutions.

BlueFlame AI has appointed Ed Chu as Chief Technology Officer. He joins BlueFlame from Kepos Capital, a quantitative-focused hedge fund, where he was part of the founding team and ultimately named partner in 2021. Chu began his career at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he held various roles ranging from software engineer to quant developer, ultimately becoming a manager of the technology team within the Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) Group.

Broadridge Financial Solutions has hired Simona Vitali to lead sales efforts for its new suite of international solutions and investor insights for issuers. Vitali joins from Morrow Sodali where she served as Chief Operating Officer for Europe. In addition, Mariana González has joined the team as Sales Director, International Issuer Services.

Three new directors have been appointed to the Investment Association (IA) Board of Directors, which oversees the IA’s activity and is made up of senior leaders from across the industry: Mark FitzPatrick, Chief Executive Officer, St James’s Place; John McCareins, Head of Northern Trust Asset Management, International; and Ann Prendergast, Head of EMEA, State Street Global Advisor. They are replacing Alexandra Altinger, Stephen Cohen and Nicolas Moreau.
