Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited appointed Richard Wise as Group Chief Risk Officer, effective November this year. He will report to HKEX Chief Executive Charles Li, and join the company’s Management Committee. Wise will oversee the Group’s risk management functions, including Group Credit and Quantitative Analysis, Group Cyber and Technology Risk Management, and Enterprise Risk Management. Wise joins HKEX from Credit Suisse, where he is currently Chief Risk Officer – Asia Pacific. Wise will succeed John Killian, who had previously led HKEX’s finance function as Group Chief Financial Officer, and took on the role of Group Risk Officer earlier this year.
Wellington Management, one of the world’s largest independent investment management firms, announced that Brendan Swords, Chief Executive Officer, will retire from Wellington on 30 June 2021. Jean Hynes, Managing Partner, will succeed Mr. Swords. Hynes joined the firm in 1991 after graduating from Wellesley College with a BA in economics. Throughout her nearly 30 years at the firm, Ms. Hynes has researched the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as served as a health care portfolio manager and leader of the health care sector research team. Since 2014, she has served as one of the firm’s three Managing Partners alongside Swords.
Horizon Software, an SaaS provider of electronic trading solutions and algorithmic technology, named Emmanuel Faure as Head of Sales APAC. Prior to joining Horizon, Faure served in various Management positions for 14 years at Fimat, a global brokerage organization and part of Société General group in Japan and Hong Kong. Faure worked as a Managing Director and Head of Business Development in the financial industry in Asia for over 20 years.
Gresham Technologies, a global fintech firm, appointed Vincent Him as Sales Director, Europe. Previously holding Senior Sales positions at SmartStream and Duco, Him brings almost 25 years’ experience across the post-trade reconciliations industry. At Gresham, he will be responsible for growing existing customer partnerships and winning new transformation opportunities among banks, asset managers and capital markets firms.
SteelEye, a compliance technology and data analytics firm, appointed Rob Friend as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Friend has 24 years of international financial services experience and will be tasked with scaling SteelEye’s business operations. Prior to joining SteelEye, Rob spent 12 years at Bloomberg, most recently as Global Head of Enterprise Product Implementation & Quality Assurance, where he played a key role in devising the product strategy and ‘go-to market’ process for Bloomberg’s MIFID II solutions.
Bedford Row Capital, a global non-bank originator specialising in structuring, arranging and originating of debt securities, appointed Christoph Kruecken as Global Head of Business Development and Distribution, based in Zurich. Kruecken will be responsible for actively driving the growth and expansion of the business of BRC´s global client base. He has over 17 years of experience in debt capital markets and structured finance, having worked across Europe in London, Berlin, Zurich, and Milan. He joins BRC from UBS Asset Management where he held the position of Head Liquidity Management, EMEA at the headquarters in Zurich.
Milestone Group, a fund processing, asset allocation and oversight automation fintech firm, appointed Marian Azer as Managing Director for Asia Pacific based in Sydney. Reporting to London-based CEO Paul Roberts, Marian will be responsible for market engagement, client success and go-to-market strategy across APAC, with particular emphasis on the Australian and New Zealand markets. Marian joins Milestone with extensive experience in financial services across a range of relevant and complementary disciplines, including roles focused on investment consulting, superannuation, fund management and investment operations. Most recently, Marian held the position of Managing Director, at RBC Investor & Treasury Services.
