Meraki Global Advisors has landed two senior executives. Eric Savitz, a 20 plus year veteran of the outsourced trading industry, has joined as Co-Head of Trading. Gregory Sutton, a hedge fund professional for 14 years, has also joined Meraki as Chief Operating Officer. Both will be based at the firm’s offices in Park City, Utah.
Savitz was most recently at Weeden Prime Services, where he was the Head of Outsourced Trading. He was responsible for trading global equities and managing all aspects of the prime brokerage offering. Prior to Weeden, he was a Partner at Greenwich Prime Trading Group where he spent 17 years of his career focusing on the firm’s highest profile clients.
Before joining Meraki, Sutton was a Partner at NY based hedge fund Paulson & Co, where he spent his entire 14 year career. At Paulson, he held a variety of roles that included trading across asset classes, managing the firm’s trading technology, and performing portfolio analysis for the hedge fund’s four largest strategies.

Prior to joining Strattam, Fleischer worked as an Associate at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., where she was responsible for private equity due diligence, deal execution, and portfolio company oversight. Prior to working with KKR, she was an Analyst at Lazard, focused on mergers & acquisitions. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she serves on the Leadership Council of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, and she earned her MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Chicago-based R.J. O’Brien & Associates tapped John Porter to take on a new strategic advisor role. Porter will be the lead macro-economic speaker at RJO conferences worldwide, will share his analysis of market and geopolitical conditions with the firm’s global client base, and will serve on the firm’s Investment Committee. From 2013 to 2018, Porter was Global Head of Fixed Income and Structured Finance at AXA Investment Managers in London, managing more than $500 billion in assets. Previously, Porter spent 15 years at Barclays Capital in London, serving as Managing Director and Global Head of Portfolio and Liquidity Management and for two years as Global Head of Economic Research. Before joining Barclays, Porter was Chief Economist and Principal of Summit Capital Advisors in Summit, New Jersey, where he performed all macro-economic analysis and developed specific investment strategies in North America, Europe and Japan.
Sterling Trading Tech snagged Tim Macek as the Director of Technical Operations and Infrastructure. Macek brings over 25 years of IT experience spanning development, previously serving at UBS where he led cross-functional teams of developers and IT specialists and oversaw all of UBS Asset Management’s trading technology and networking systems.
The SIX Digital Exchange has appointed Tim Grant as its new Head of Business. Grant possesses over 20 years of deep technology and management expertise across institutional capital markets and enterprise blockchain businesses from his time serving senior positions in financial services including CEO of the R3 Lab and Research Centre, Managing Director at UBS O’Connor and UBS Investment Bank and, more recently, as Founder and CEO of DrumG Technologies.
Eventus Systems, the market risk software platform provider, landed Roger Chandler in London as Senior Sales Engineer, Europe. Chandler was Technology Sales Manager for Bloomberg LP out of London, responsible for enterprise technical sales for global multi-asset sell-side clients in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Before joining Bloomberg in 2018, he spent nearly 11 years at technology vendor Fidessa PLC in London, initially as Service Delivery Manager working with futures and options clients and prospects, then as Project Manager Team Lead and ultimately as Global Account Director. He reports to Scott Schroeder, Eventus Global Head of Sales.
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the post-trade infrastructure for the global financial services industry, announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors during the firm’s Annual Shareholders Meeting.
The new directors are Deborah Cunningham of Federated Hermes, Inc. and Craig Messinger of Virtu Financial.
Deborah Cunningham is a chief investment officer of Global Liquidity Markets at Federated Hermes. She joined Federated in 1981 as a performance analyst and has more than 30 years of investment experience. Since 1990 she has been a portfolio manager for all government and prime liquidity products. In addition to the domestic Taxable Liquidity portfolios, Cunningham also oversees the management of the domestic Tax-Exempt Liquidity portfolios as well as the Offshore Liquidity products.
Craig Messinger is a 40-year financial services industry veteran. He currently serves on the executive management team and is Vice Chairman at Virtu Financial, Inc. He is also the CEO for Virtu Americas LLC, one of Virtu’s FINRA registered broker-dealers. Before Virtu, Messinger was Executive Vice President and global head of trading and risk management at BNY Mellon and a member of the bank’s Operating Committee and the Global Markets Executive Committee.
The DTCC Board of Directors is currently comprised of 21 Directors. Of these, 14 are participant Directors who represent clearing agency members, including international broker/dealers, custodian and clearing banks, and investment institutions; three are non-participant Directors; two Directors are designated by DTCC’s preferred shareholders, ICE and FINRA; and the remaining two Board members are DTCC’s Non-Executive Chairman and its President and Chief Executive Officer.
