Virtu Financial has announced that Michael T. Viola has been appointed to succeed Robert Greifeld, Chairman, who has resigned from Virtu’s Board of Directors in order to focus on other endeavors, including the launch of Cornerstone FTM, a financial technology focused investment fund, as well as board and leadership roles with other financial and philanthropic organizations. Viola has served on Virtu’s Board of Directors since 2016 and as chair of its Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee since 2019. Greifeld joined Virtu’s Board of Directors in July 2017 as Chairman, concurrent with Virtu closing its acquisition of KCG Holdings.
London Stock Exchange Group has hired Satvinder Singh as Group Head, Data & Analytics and as a member of the LSEG Executive Committee. He joins on July 3, 2023, reporting to David Schwimmer, CEO, LSEG. In addition, LSEG also confirmed the appointment of Ron Lefferts, Group Head, Sales & Account Management to the LSEG Executive Committee with immediate effect. Based in New York, Lefferts joined LSEG in 2021 to lead the Data & Analytics Sales and LSEG key account teams.
Copper.co, a provider of institutional digital asset custody, collateral management and settlement solutions, has appointed Stefano Maestri as CTO, Sam Goh as CFO and Sam Brown as General Counsel. Maestri has over 25 years’ experience working in building technology divisions, specializing in capital markets. Prior to joining Copper, he was CTO at Clarivate. Goh joins Copper from his previous position as Senior Vice President, Finance, at Onfido, the AI-based digital identity company. Brown, who has been Acting General Counsel since February 2023, is now confirmed as General Counsel. He joined Copper in June 2022 as Head of Product Legal.
The London Metal Exchange (LME) has announced that John Williamson, currently LME Non-Executive Director, will become the LME’s Interim Chairman, effective April 28, 2023. He will replace Gay Huey Evans CBE, who steps down from the Board at the end of April.
InvestCloud has announced that its Chief Executive Officer John Wise has left the Company. Richard Lumb, a current director on the InvestCloud Board of Directors and experienced leader in the financial services industry, has been appointed interim CEO. The Board also has initiated a comprehensive search for a permanent CEO.
IQ-EQ has appointed Matt Okolita as Regional CEO, Americas. He previously held the role of Global Head of Outsourced Business Services and in this capacity has worked closely with his predecessor Mark Fordyce for a number of years. Prior to that, he led Greyline Partners, a regulatory, compliance and governance consultancy that was acquired by IQ-EQ in November 2021.
