STA Names 2024 Dictum Meum Pactum Award Recipient

STA is pleased to announce Chris Halverson, Director, Institutional Sales at CAPIS, as the 2024 recipient of our Dictum Meum Pactum Award! 

A former STA National Chair and Past President of Dallas STA, Mr. Halverson’s unwavering support for our organization and its members is recognized and appreciated by the entire STA community.

Despite the challenges presented as STA Chair during the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020, Mr. Halverson demonstrated admirable leadership while upholding STA’s values to the highest standard. As a member of the Dallas STA Board for the past 16 years, Mr. Halverson’s service to STA on both a regional and a national level has been long recognized by many in our industry.

Throughout his years serving the STA community, Mr. Halverson has also dedicated his time to several charitable organizations, including Catch A Lift Fund, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, North Texas Food Bank and more.

He has been a strong STA ambassador for many years, and we are grateful for his contributions to our organization. The Dictum Meum Pactum (DMP) Award recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the betterment of the financial services industry and have exhibited acts of integrity at the highest level, consistent with the ideal STA has supported since its inception:Dictum Meum Pactum (“My Word Is My Bond”).

The 2024 DMP Award will be presented to Mr. Halverson at STA’s 91st Annual Market Structure in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
About Chris Halverson
Chris Halverson joined CAPIS in 1999. He began his career at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), advising institutional accounts on hedging in the futures markets. Today, Mr. Halverson is a trusted resource for a variety of firms, including investment managers, plans sponsors and consultants.
Mr. Halverson has been actively involved with the Security Traders Association (STA) for many years. He joined the Board of Directors of STA’s local affiliate, the Dallas STA, in 2008 and served as its President in 2014. Shortly after that, Mr. Halverson joined the STA National Board of Directors and was elected STA Chairman in 2020. He continues to be an advocate for STA and serve on the DSTA Board.

Mr. Halverson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. He and his wife Julie have two daughters, Lauren and Caroline, who keep them extremely busy. In his spare time, Mr. Halverson enjoys golf, tennis, snowboarding, scuba diving and travel.
